Qatar Goodwood Festival - Goodwood Festival Day 4 Betting Tips

We are into the home stretch at Glorious Goodwood on Friday and, on the penultimate day, this place so synonymous with speed hosts the blink-and-you'll-miss-it King George Qatar Stakes over the flying five furlongs at 3.35pm. Seven more races from Glorious Goodwood on Friday, with racing from 1.50pm-5.20pm, and we've got an assessment on them all.

1.50pm - Coral Goodwood Handicap (2m4½f)

The longest race of the week at more than two-and-a-half-miles and it's entirely possible the excellent year of trainer Milton Harris will continue via SUPER SUPERJACK. It's been quiet of late for the dual-purpose trainer but this may have been a target for some time for April's course winner (2m, good to firm). His patient racing style will lend itself to this test and his figures since read 122, latterly off this mark. In-form Zoffee and Solent Getaway have stamina to prove, but are thriving, while Mellow Magic should go well with Harry Davies claiming 5lb. Selection: Super Superjack

2.25pm - Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes (Group 3, 1m)

Checkandchallenge remains a lightly-raced sort with more to offer and warrants a second go in Group-race company (not much went right in the 2000 Guineas and this is easier). The standard-bearer is Bayside Boy, Roger Varian's charge running a fine race in a red-hot St James's Palace Stakes at Ascot in June, he exits Group 1 company for the first time in four and must be a contender. BERKSHIRE SHADOW has finished ahead of both in Group 1 company this season and, at a course where he has run well, may out-do the pair again for Andrew Balding.

Selection: Berkshire Shadow

3.00pm - Coral Golden Mile Handicap (1m)

Traditionally one of the strongest handicaps of this meeting, a field of 20 are engaged again and lots will be feeling good about their chances. Newmarket winner Noble Dynasty is capable of more, while Montassib continues to leave that impression too – they represent top teams. Eilean Dubh and Blue For You are just a couple more, but SALEYMM produced his best yet at York three weeks ago (with some of these beaten) on first start after being gelded and could have more to come now tackling the mile for Simon & Ed Crisford. Selection: Saleymm

3.35pm - King George Qatar Stakes (Group 2, 5f)

Raasel has been a superb success for his connections and is 2-2 at Goodwood, Mick Appleby's charge is a player in what may be his toughest assignment to date. This is wide open and Charlie Hills' pair Equilateral and Khaadem are possibles but it's hard not to think MITBAAHY was an unlucky loser behind Raasel last time at Sandown. He repeatedly met trouble in the run and flew home to be beaten a neck. Revenge may be his.

Selection: Mitbaahy

4.10pm - L'Ormarins Queen's Plate Glorious Stakes (Group 3, 1m4f)

Rebel's Romance is the form pick after comprehensively beating stablemate Kemari at Sandown five weeks ago, they give Charlie Appleby a strong hand here. Sir Michael Stoute allows REGAL REALITY to tackle this distance for the first time in his career at seven and, given the way he's finished his two starts at 1m2f this term, the former course winner might well thrive on the new test.

Selection: Regal Reality

4.45pm - Coral Beaten-By-A-Length Free Bet Nursery (6f)

KNEBWORTH was 2-2 on Lingfield's Polytrack before running a below-par race in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot in June. He was a little restless in the stalls before that race and, given the rise in class, expending that sort of energy ahead of a 5f sprint was a cocktail for failure. Assuming no repeat, Richard Hughes' charge may bounce back upped in trip.

Selection: Knebworth

5.20pm - Oliver Brown Handicap (1m3f)

Caius Chorister is intriguing for locally-based trainer David Menuisier after winning handicaps at Epsom (1m4f) by 19-lengths and 12-lengths. The handicapper has taken a dim view, and she's rated 17lb higher now but the Golden Horn filly cannot be ignored. Yarmouth winner Omniscient is another in the mood for Sir Mark Prescott and the pair frame the market. The lightly-raced PARADIAS is forgiven a poor run on soft going at Haydock last time and could excel upped in trip for trainer Alan King in Friday's finale.

Selection: Paradias
