Ayr Racing Betting at Bet UK

The racecourse at Ayr is one of the most prestigious in Scotland, which is a current primarily known for beautiful Golf courses rather than Horse Racing tracks but the exception comes in the form of Ayr. The host of the Scottish Grand National and the Ayr Gold Cup, Ayr Racecourse is a cornerstone of racing on the UK scene and the very best trainers, horses and jockeys come out to the course at least once a year.

Scottish Grand National Betting Tips

The Scottish Grand National is the feature race at Ayr on Saturday. This is a huge race on the Scottish calendar, and after Corach Rambler’s victory in the Grand National at Aintree last weekend, Scotland will be hoping for more success in their race.

There are a total of 60 runners with entries, but that number will be reduced to a maximum field of 30 when the final declarations are announced 48 hours before the event. The likes of Corach Rambler, Galvin and Mr Incredible are all expected to come out.

Christian Williams won this race 12 months ago with Win My Wings and the Welshman will be bidding for more success this time with Kitty’s Light. Champion Trainer Paul Nicholls has won the race three times, and he has three entries this year, as he bids to match the record for the most victories since the contest has been at Ayr.

Selection: Kitty’s Light Next Best: Your Own Story

Kitty’s Light to Give Williams More Success

Christian Williams has developed a reputation for being one of the leading trainers when it comes to staying chasers. His record last season was outstanding, particularly at the back end of the season.

Williams was very confident about the chances of Win My Wings in 2022, and he can be hopeful of a big run from KITTY’S LIGHT, as he should relish this challenge at Ayr, as he looks to go one place better than last year.

Kitty’s Light is 3lb lower in the ratings than when he came home as the runner-up last April. He looked right back to his best back in February when he landed the Eider Chase, a race over 4m1½f at Newcastle.

The seven-year-old’s record over these marathon trips is very impressive. He is rarely far away at the finish, as he tends to just stay on when many of his rivals have cried enough. Success here would be another big handicap chase triumph for the talented trainer.

Your Own Story Would Complete Magical Two Weeks for Russell

The team at Arlary House will still be on a high after what Corach Rambler achieved at Aintree last Saturday. They have a great chance of more National glory in Scotland this time with YOUR OWN STORY.

This is the seven-year-old’s first campaign over fences, and he has been very consistent. He has only once finished out the frame. He prevailed in a 3m7f handicap chase at Wetherby two runs back, while last time out at Haydock, he came home second in a contest over 3m4½f.

Russell’s chaser will have no issues with the 4m distance. He has shown he appreciates a stiff test. He remains off a very workable mark of 127, which should ensure he has one of the lowest weight allocations in the field. He is not currently inside the top 30 runners, but with many of the Aintree runners set to withdraw, he is likely to sneak in near the bottom of the list.

The Scottish trainer won this race in 2021 with Mighty Thunder. She will be hoping Your Own Story can become the latest Scottish horse to prevail in the Ayr feature.

Above you can find the very best Ayr betting tips for one of the biggest events of the season for the Ayr Gold Cup. The highest starting price winner for the competition came in 1989 where Joveworth won the race at odds of 50/1. However, in recent years, every winner has come at odds of 7/1. 2018 saw a dead heat between a 5/1 and 28/1 horse but what we commonly see is younger horses valued between 7/1 and 28/1 are typically winners here.

What type of track is Ayr Racecourse?

Ayr's Racecourse is a flat, left-handed oval that spans across one and a half miles, meaning that fast-paced gallopers will be well suited to the course, providing they don't jump the gun. Why is the Scottish Grand National before Aintree?

Featured at Ayr Racecourse, the two events are separated so trainers and jockeys can attend both days. Recently, a change has been made to accommodate for the Easter break and to maintain the three-week gap between the Cheltenham Festival and the Aintree Grand National.
