Liverpool Betting Odds
It says a lot about Liverpool FC that in 2021/22 they won two trophies and finished runners-up in two more but there was a major aura of disappointment surrounding their season. Jurgen Klopp has turned his side into serial winners and there is no doubt that they have a fantastic squad capable of causing damage to any side in the 2022/23 season. However, any success that they have will be put down to the success of Darwin Nunez, the big money signing from Benfica FC won’t be a direct replacement for Sadio Mane but he will need to replace the gigantic number of goals that Mane consistently contributed to the Liverpool squad. Betting odds suggest that the 2022/23 season will be another of slight disappointment for Liverpool as they are between 2nd and 4th favourites for every competition that they’re in. Victory in the Community Shield at the start of the campaign has set them up for success but the question remains as to whether they can build on that success without one of the best wingers in world football. You can find all Liverpool betting odds on our football betting page which will include a small number of options that aren’t found above but can be found on various other pages.
2022/23 Season Liverpool Odds
Last season, Liverpool proved they were one of the strongest teams in the world, fighting on four different fronts and playing more games across the season than any other club in Europe. However, for all that success, they only managed to win the domestic cup competitions beating Chelsea on penalties in both games. This season, Liverpool look to be a weaker team, losing Sadio Mane and having to rely on the likes of Fabio Carvalho and Harvey Elliott to step-up to the plate, especially if Darwin Nunez doesn’t hit the ground running in a Liverpool shirt. Their youngsters are impressive and soon, they’ll be regulars in the Liverpool team but there are doubts as to whether or not they can perform at the top level just yet. With that being said, Anfield is still a fortress and Liverpool have an incredible record at the stadium, meaning that if a team was to knock them out of a competition, it would likely have to be on their home turf.
Liverpool Betting Odds: Domestic
Historically, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side would have won three Premier League’s by now. However, one football superpower has stood in their way almost every season and that superpower is Manchester City who have bested Liverpool in the Premier League season on most occasions. Liverpool have put up record-setting numbers for runners-up and have an incredible record in recent years. However, the loss of Sadio Mane is one that has hurt Liverpool, meanwhile, the introduction of Erling Harland for Manchester City has only strengthened their ranks. Meaning that when looking at Premier League betting, Manchester City are firm favourites for very obvious reasons.
However, when it comes down to cup competitions, the question remains of if there is a cup tie played at Anfield, who can beat Liverpool? They’re incredible in front of the KOP and are difficult to hold, never mind defeat. Would it surprise any if they were to win either the Carabao Cup or FA Cup again? Probably not, if you’re looking to back them in the Carabao Cup, be sure to check out our EFL Cup betting odds if you believe they’ll perform better at the start of the season alternatively, check out our FA Cup betting markets if you think 2023 will see Liverpool claim more domestic trophies.
Liverpool Betting Odds: Europe
Similarly to the Premier League, one team tends to stand in the way of Liverpool and the Champions League trophy, this time around it isn’t Manchester City but Spanish giants Real Madrid. Madrid have faced Liverpool in three of their last four Champions League finals and finished victorious on every occasion. The other time Liverpool won the tournament at the expense of fellow English side Tottenham Hotspur who subsequently made their first ever Champions League final appearance.
With that in mind, we ask the question of whether or not Liverpool will win the 2022/23 Champions League? Ultimately, we think not, there are so many teams in the world that have strengthened this season while Liverpool look a weaker opposition in comparison to previous years. They’ll make the latter stages without any problems but over the course of two legs, it looks likely that the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint Germain would be too strong for the Reds this season.
Liverpool Betting Markets: Goals
With Mohamed Salah in the Liverpool team, there are no doubts who the favourite to score the opening goal for Liverpool may be. However, over the course of the season, we’ll see if the likes of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez have the capability to be regular goalscorers in the Liverpool team. Sadio Mane offered Liverpool approximately 20 goals in a Premier League season, can we see Darwin Nunez or Luis Diaz getting that amount of goals this season? Absolutely not, this means that Liverpool will need to be extra secure in their defensive duties if they wish to succeed this season, meaning less goals in games. Liverpool started the campaign looking incredibly leaky in defence but if they can sure up their defence, it wouldn’t be surprising if 1-0 or 2-0 becomes their most common result of the season.
Liverpool Betting Markets: Cards
Liverpool are a side that typically don’t pick up too many cards in comparison to their opponents. Typically in games featuring Liverpool, our top bet for cards would be the opposition player up against Luis Diaz. However, if we look at things from a Liverpool defensive point of view, Thiago and Fabinho are commonly involved in defending from midfield meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold has been regularly caught out of position without recovering in recent seasons, making him an excellent choice for bets involving yellow cards.
