Euro 2024 Daily Accumulator: 16/06/2024

Matchday 3 of Euro 2024 sees a trio of cracking contests and pre-tournament favourites England get their campaign underway against Serbia.

Slovenia take on Denmark in another Group C clash, while Poland face off against the Netherlands in Hamburg.

We’ve three selections in a Matchday 3 accumulator that pays out at 24/5.

Tip 1: Serbia v England over 2.5 goals @ ⅘

England kick off Euro 2024 as the favourites to lift the trophy and it’s easy to see why the Three Lions are fancied to be crowned European champions.

Gareth Southgate has a whole host of attacking talent in his squad and few nations can compete with a forward line that could contain any combination of Harry Kane, Phil Foden, Jude Bellingham, Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka.

Serbia face a difficult task if they are to pick up a positive result against England, but that doesn’t mean that the Eagles will adopt a negative approach.

Dragan Stojkovic has all his talent stacked in attack, with Dusan Vlahovic, Dusan Tadic, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Luka Jovic and Aleksandar Mitrovic excellent forward options.

Serbia will surely feel that attack is their best form of defence, but that could prove a dangerous game against a top-level England side and backing over 2.5 goals looks a solid play.

Tip 2: Netherlands to beat Poland @ 11/20

The Netherlands’ chances of Euro 2024 are a little unconvincing, but Oranje should be far too strong for Poland in their opening group-stage contest.

Ronald Koeman is sweating on the fitness of forward Memphis Depay, who hasn’t been a regular starter for Atletico this term, but the Dutch can still call on excellent performers in Virgil van Dijk, Micky van de Ven, Denzel Dumfries and Cody Gakpo.

We do know that Poland will be without their top scorer, captain and best player Robert Lewandowski for the contest with the Dutch and the Eagles already look set for a tournament of struggles.

Michał Probierz will lack a goalscoring threat with Lewandowski missing and the Netherlands look a solid bet in Hamburg.

Tip 3: Slovenia or draw double chance v Denmark @ 21/20

Denmark reached the semi-finals of Euro 2020, but three years later the Danes look set to struggle.

Key performers Kasper Schmeichel, Simon Kjær, Christian Eriksen and Thomas Delaney are all way past their best and the Red and Whites may lack the energy and running power to deal with a robust and committed Slovenia outfit.

Matjaz Kek’s men finished level on points with Denmark in their qualifying section and Slovenia have gone on to record friendly victories over the USA and Portugal.

Benjamin Sesko will offer a constant threat in attack and Kek’s side can be back to avoid defeat in Stuttgart.
