Crystal Palace v Fulham – Draw @ 5/2

Crystal Palace and Fulham have almost identical records this season and this London derby seems likely to be a tight, low-scoring affair, which could easily end in a draw.

Palace have been struggling for goals since losing Wilfried Zaha to Galatasaray, scoring six times in five Premier League fixtures this term, while Fulham have been keeping things tight on the road aside from the 5-1 drubbing they took at Manchester City.

Plenty of good sides have suffered a thrashing at the Etihad at the hands of the champions – and Fulham are much better equipped to frustrate Palace at Selhurst Park.

Palace boss Roy Hodgson is prone to caution – perhaps even more so against his old club – and his Fulham counterpart Marco Silva would probably be happy with a point from the match.

Brentford v Everton – Everton @ 18/5

There has been much doom and gloom surrounding coverage of Everton in recent months, but the Toffees have been resilient on the road and look good value to take three points from their visit to Brentford.

Starting with a crucial point at Crystal Palace in April, which helped Everton retain their Premier League status, the Merseysiders have lost only one of their last 11 away games. That run includes four pre-season friendlies, but Stade Lyonnais, Wigan, Bolton and Stoke were respectable opposition.

Everton fans enjoyed a 5-1 success away to Brighton in May and the Toffees have since been boosted by the return to fitness of Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The 26-year-old forward is bursting with potential and has provided added options for Sean Dyche.

With Brentford rocked by the injury to key defender Rico Henry – and Everton's mood lifted by takeover talk – the odds about an away triumph seem generous.

Chelsea v Aston Villa – Chelsea to win 4-0 @ 25/1

There has been such a turnover of personnel at Stamford Bridge recently, it was inevitably going to take time for the team to settle, but relatively new manager Mauricio Pochettino could take some encouragement from Chelsea's performance at Bournemouth last time out.

The Blues were inches away from victory, twice hitting the woodwork, and Pochettino's side appear to be taking shape. A home fixture against Aston Villa seems perfectly timed for Chelsea to finally reward their frustrated followers with a resounding success.

If Chelsea can get on the scoresheet early, easing pressure on a line-up which has cost more than a billion pounds to assemble, the Londoners can relax and hit their stride.

The five-time Premier League champions have been underachieving for too long, but they have the right manager in place - he has had some time to work with his players - and a charge up the table in the weeks to come seems likely.
