BetUK's BIG English Premier League final day stat-pack

Premier League Betting

After 370 games, 33,330 minutes of normal time, 1,352 yellow cards, 31 red cards, and 1051 goals, we have reached the end of the road for the Premier League season.

Ahead of all the action, make sure you check out BetUK’s Golden Hour! We are offering top value odds on our books for one hour only on the Premier League match winner market between 13:00 and 14:00 on Sunday 28 May.

Premier League State of Play

The dream is over for Arsenal. After a magnificent title challenge, the Gunners didn't have enough powder in the keg to fire themselves to the promised land. Our official partner, Manchester City, confirmed themselves as the dominant force in British football.

The race for the top four threatened to get interesting after a mini Manchester United wobble and a storming Liverpool finish - but the latter's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa at Anfield last weekend effectively ended their ambition with United’s 4-1 dismantling of Chelsea putting the final nail in the coffin for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Other European spots are also mainly sealed, with Liverpool and Brighton & Hove Albion landing the Europa League places. It will come down to the final day to decide whether Aston Villa (seventh on 58 points) or Tottenham (eighth, 57 points) will qualify for the Europa Conference League while Brentford (ninth, 56 points) also retain an outside chance.

At the bottom it's a three-way shootout between Leeds, Leicester, and Everton for the one remaining route to safety. The Toffees are in the driving seat, sitting two points ahead of their rivals, so they know a win will definitely be enough to secure Premier League status for another year.

If Everton fail to find a victory, Leicester will stay up with a win - but only a win. The picture is even bleaker for Leeds. They must hope both Everton and Leicester fail to pick up three points AND find a way to beat Europe-chasing Tottenham on the final day.

Final Day Betting Stat-pack

Arsenal vs Wolverhampton

  • Reverse result: Wolves 0-2 Arsenal
  • Arsenal's average home goals per game this season: 2.66
  • Wolves' average away goals per game this season: 0.6
  • Key stat: Both teams have scored in the previous five games between these two.
  • Bet Builder suggestion: Arsenal to win and Arsenal to score more than 2.5 goals - 21/20 (2.10) with BetUK.

Prediction

After an incredible push for glory, the Gunners have come up short. Despite the disappointment of finishing second, there is some goodwill around the Emirates, a feeling that's been in short supply over recent years.

Arsenal have been scoring freely at home, and Wolves are struggling to find the net on the road. It could feasibly be a comfortable 3-0 win for the hosts to see off the season in style.

Aston Villa vs Brighton & Hove Albion

Prediction

Both teams have enjoyed phenomenal seasons. The hosts have blossomed under the tutelage of Unai Emery, while the Seagulls boast the second-highest xG rate in the entire league in their surge to European football - that’s behind only Premier League champions and treble-hunters Man City.

We can see this being a high-scoring score draw - we're going with Aston Villa 2-2 Brighton & Hove Albion.

Brentford vs Man City

  • Reverse result: Man City 1-2 Brentford
  • Brentford's average home goals per game this season: 1.88
  • Man City's average away goals per game this season: 1.94
  • Key stat: The Bees have won three and lost two against five of this season's top six teams.
  • Bet Builder suggestion: Brentford to score more than 1.5 goals, Julian Alvarez to score - 21/4 (6.25) with BetUK.

Prediction

Where does the eulogising end with this peerless Man City team? They have had a phenomenal run-in but may look at resting players ahead of attempting to win a historic treble.

But Brentford are another side to have surprised a few this season - and although European football is beyond them, Thomas Frank can look upon this campaign as one of significant progress. Could they edge past the Citizens with a second shock 2-1 victory? We reckon they might just.

Chelsea Vs Newcastle United

  • Reverse result: Newcastle 1-0 Chelsea
  • Chelsea's average home goals per game this season: 1.05
  • Newcastle's average away goals per game this season: 1.72
  • Key stat: The Blues have won just two of their last ten games at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.
  • Bet Builder suggestion: Newcastle to win to nil and Callum Wilson to score - 11/2 (6.5)

Prediction

The less said about Chelsea's campaign, the better. Short of relegation, it couldn't have gone much worse in Todd Boehly's first season as owner with the Blues guaranteed to finish in the bottom half for the first time since the 1995-96 season.

Callum Wilson has enjoyed his best-ever goalscoring campaign in the Premier League with 18 strikes to his name - we're backing him to get on the scoresheet and steering the Magpies to an end-of-season victory.

Callum Wilson

Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest

  • Reverse result: Nottingham Forest 1-0 Crystal Palace
  • Crystal Palace's average home goals per game this season: 1.11
  • Nottingham Forest's average away goals per game this season: 0.55
  • Key stat: After just four goals in his first 23 appearances for Nottingham Forest, Taiwo Awoniyi has scored five in his last three games.
  • Bet Builder suggestion: Crystal Palace to score more than 1.5 goals, Taiwo Awoniyi to score anytime.

Prediction

After some hairy moments earlier in the campaign, an end-of-season spurt of form means Crystal Palace are enjoying some mid-table security.

A famous win over Arsenal last weekend ensured Forest's Premier League safety for another season and cemented the club-wide adoration for manager Steve Cooper. We can see a narrow 2-1 win for the hosts in what is likely to be the final game for manager Roy Hodgson.

Everton vs Bournemouth

  • Reverse result: Bournemouth 3-0 Everton
  • Everton's average home goals per game this season: 0.83
  • Bournemouth's average away goals per game this season: 0.94
  • Key stat: The Cherries have won three of their last four games on the road in the Premier League.
  • Bet Builder suggestion: Draw and Under 2.5 goals - 17/4 (5.25) with BetUK.

Prediction

While we will resist making a pun about Everton, Toffees, and a sticky situation, there's no denying this is a must-win game for the hosts. All three points guarantee them a spot in the Premier League next season - failure to seal victory would mean they depend on other results going in their favour.

There will be a few deserving votes for Gary O'Neil in the manager of the year stakes after his efforts in leading the team to safety against the odds. However, we think this one could be a low-scoring draw.

Leeds vs Tottenham

  • Reverse result: Tottenham 4-3 Leeds
  • Leeds' average home goals per game this season: 1.38
  • Tottenham's average away goals per game this season: 1.61
  • Key stat: No side has lost more points from leading positions in this season's Premier League than Leeds (25, level with Forest).
  • Bet Builder suggestion: Tottenham to win, both teams to score, Harry Kane to score 2+ goals - 9/1 (10.0) with BetUK.

Prediction

A devastating defeat to West Ham on Sunday means Leeds need a minor miracle to avoid relegation. It's been a strange season for the Lilywhites, who haven't had an issue finding the net but have been highly porous at the back.

After finishing in the top four last season, this campaign can be regarded as a monumental failure for Spurs. If it is to be Harry Kane's final game for the North London side, don't be surprised to see him make his mark. Leeds 1-3 Tottenham is our shout.

Leicester vs West Ham

  • Reverse result: West Ham 0-2 Leicester
  • Leicester's average home goals per game this season: 1.16
  • West Ham's average away goals per game this season: 0.83
  • Key stat: The Foxes have won just once in the last 16 games in all competitions.
  • Bet Builder suggestion: Under 2.5 goals and both teams not to score - 13/8

Prediction

With so much on the line for Leicester, this could represent a nervy affair. A strange 0-0 draw against Newcastle on Monday night means they have kept the pressure on Everton. A loss against the Magpies would have meant them having to beat West Ham and Everton losing.

A win for the Foxes and a draw for Everton would be enough to keep Leicester in the league. It's mind-boggling to think the 2016 champions are in the position they're in. We think they'll sneak past the Hammers, but not by much. We're going Leicester 1-0 West Ham.

Leicester City Vs West Ham United

Man Utd vs Fulham

  • Reverse result: Fulham 1-2 Man Utd
  • Man Utd's average home goals per game this season: 1.89
  • Fulham's average away goals per game this season: 1.27
  • Key stat: The Cottagers are the sixth best team away from home this season, having picked up 23 points from 18 games.
  • Bet Builder suggestion: Fulham double chance, both teams to score, over 2.5 goals - 9/2 (5.5) with BetUK.

Prediction

The Red Devils sealed Champions League qualification with Thursday night’s 4-1 thrashing of Chelsea so there is technically nothing at stake for Erik ten Hag’s men in this one except ensuring they pip Newcastle to third place

Fulham, similarly, are guaranteed a top-half finish. They are a side that travels well though and we think this could be a high-scoring draw - we're going with Man Utd 2-2 Fulham.

Southampton vs Liverpool

  • Reverse result: Liverpool 3-1 Southampton
  • Southampton's average home goals per game this season: 0.83
  • Liverpool's average away goals per game this season: 1.38
  • Key stat: The Saints haven't managed a single goal in each of their previous three home games in the Premier League.
  • Bet Builder suggestion: Liverpool to score 3+ goals, Southampton under 0.5 goals - 33/10 (4.3) with BetUK.**

Prediction

A Reds side cruising into top gear as the season closes out against a Saints team in reverse. We can only see one result here - a comfortable win for the visitors. We'll go with 3-0 but check out our Bet Builder suggestion if you think it'll be a general thrashing.
