Champions League Matchday Two Tips

Champions League Matchday 2 Tips

There are five British sides in action in the Champions League on Tuesday and Wednesday and there could be differing fortunates across the two days of action.

Arsenal got their Champions League campaign off to a fantastic start by beating PSV 4-0 on matchday one and the Gunners now travel to Lens on Tuesday.

Bet on the Champions League

Defending champions Man City beat Red Star 3-1 at home on their first outing since lifting the trophy last year, but the Citizens may have more on their plate at Leipzig.

Under-pressure Manchester United host Turkish giants Galatasaray, while Newcastle take on PSG in what looks set to be a mouthwatering tie at St James’ Park.

Celtic can call on a vocal Parkhead when Lazio come to Glasgow and it should be another cracking night of top-level European action.

Tip 1 - Galatasaray to beat Man Utd @ 6/1 https://www.leovegas.com/en-gb/betting#event/1020071618

Manchester United have lost four of their last six matches and the latest of those defeats was a 1-0 Old Trafford humbling by Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils have two narrow, and perhaps fortunate, 1-0 victories and a come-from-behind 3-2 success over ten men, as well as a 3-0 EFL Cup triumph over a much-changed Palace side to shout about so far this season, and there doesn’t seem to be any reason to want to back Erik ten Hag’s men when Galatasaray visit Old Trafford on Tuesday evening.

Ten Hag doesn’t appear to have found a winning or consistent formula and the constant chopping and changing of the starting line-up isn’t paying dividends.

Galatasaray could only draw 2-2 with Copenhagen on matchday one, but that was a game the Istanbul outfit dominated, winning the shot count 11-4 and the corner count 9-1, and they may have a better chance than the prices suggest.

Tip 2 - Lazio to beat Celtic @ 13/10

Celtic needed a 97th-minute winner to get past Motherwell at the weekend, and while the Bhoys can call on the fantastic Parkhead support, they look vulnerable to Lazio.

Brendan Rodgers side were knocked out of the Scottish League Cup by Kilmarnock, couldn’t beat lowly St Johnstone on their own patch, and they do not appear the same side since Ange Postecoglou left for Tottenham.

Lazio haven’t been in great form, but Serie A is a far stronger division than the Scottish top flight and the White and Sky Blues played pretty well when drawing 1-1 with Atletico Madrid in their opening Champions League contest. Ciro Immobile and Felipe Anderson are classy performers and Lazio should be too strong for Celtic.

Tip 3 - Leipzig/draw double chance @ 57/50

RB Leipzig have won six of their last seven matches - a 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich is the only break to that run - and the Bundesliga side can cause Man City problems.

The Citizens have been miles off their best when losing to Wolves and Newcastle in their last two fixtures and the Manchester side have some key players missing through injury.

Backing Leipzig and the draw in the double chance is well worth considering.
