Champions League Final Tips & Predictions

The 2023/24 Champions League campaign draws to a close on Saturday night, with Real Madrid meeting Borussia Dortmund at Wembley. For Real, this is an opportunity to lift the trophy for a record 15th time, while Dortmund are looking to avenge their Wembley defeat from the 2013 decider against Bayern Munich.

The Champions League final has been a cagey occasion in recent years and this is expected to be another close game. However, there are plenty of smaller markets to dive into and we’ve picked out a four-fold bet builder for Saturday’s clash that is priced up at 40/1.

Tip 1 - Toni Kroos to make an assist @ 17/5

Toni Kroos is playing in his final ever club game, with the German midfielder set to retire after Euro 2024. He could land the biggest prize in club football for the sixth time in his final game.

Kroos has proven his quality both across this campaign and in his return to the German national team and the former Bayern Munich midfielder set up a goal at his former side in the last round.

Kroos has a single goal to his name this term but he supplied his ninth assist of the season in a 5-0 win over Alaves earlier this month and the midfielder’s class should see him have a big impact on his final game for Real.

Tip 2 - Ian Maatsen to have 1+ shots @ 13/10

Ian Maatsen was a smart addition for Dortmund in January and the Chelsea loanee has proven to be a very attack-minded presence from left-back. He has chipped in with three goals since arriving in the winter, including a stunning strike in his last game.

Even at Wembley, Maatsen will push forward and the Dutchman has had at least one shot in nine of the last 12 games in which he’s played at least 50 minutes. He’s had 11 shots across his 16 Bundesliga appearances and he had an effort home and away to Atletico Madrid, scoring in the second-leg. Back Maatsen to have at least one shot in Saturday’s clash.

Tip 3 - Ian Maatsen to get a card @ 41/20

While Maatsen is impressive going forward, the left-back does tend to get into trouble with the referee. The Dutchman left Stamford Bridge having picked up two bookings despite making just three starts and he’s continued to accumulate cards in Germany.

Maatsen has been booked five times in the Bundesliga this season, while he has three bookings in six Champions League games. He’s likely to pick up another caution on Saturday with Rodrygo and Jude Bellingham both likely to drift out wide in this clash.

Tip 4 - Eduardo Camavinga to get a card @ 39/20

Camavinga has 12 bookings to his name across both La Liga and the Champions League this season and the Frenchman is set to anchor the midfield at Wembley.

He has picked up six cards this term while playing in central midfield and half of his bookings have come away from the Bernabeu. The Frenchman averages over two fouls per game in Europe this term and he’s a good bet for another card.
