The Bundesliga season title race for 2022/23 very much depends on which side adapts to the loss of their star striker the best. Bayern Munich have lost Robert Lewandowski but gained Sadio Mane, meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund have lost Erling Haaland to Manchester City which means we could see Dortmund's worst season in many years.
Does this open the door for RB Leipzig? Borussia Monchengladbach or Bayer Leverkusen? In our opinion, absolutely not. RB Leipzig performed well in cup competitions last season but a semi-final defeat to Rangers in the Europa League didn't appease the fans. Domenico Tedesco will need time to succeed at Leipzig and the return of Timo Werner will aid him but they aren't ready to challenge for the title. Meanwhile, Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen simply don't have the squad to challenge at the top of German football. We might see a shock but it will take a miracle for one of these teams to overtake Bayern Munich this season.

When you look at the Bundesliga, anybody could get relegated but one name that stands out is a side who actually finished 13th last season. VfL Bochum sold their two main strikers to relegation rivals Schalke 04 and Union Berlin and as the two scored 14 out of Bochum's 38 league goals last season, they'll struggle to get the goals needed to survive this season. Which is why we believe they should be favourites for relegation this season.
