Episode 6 - King George Diamond Weekend, Ascot, 2022
Exclusive Expert Betting Tips From Six-Time Champion Jockey, Kieren Fallon
Ascot International Stakes
Head - Jumby
When we asked Kieren Fallon for his pick for the Ascot International Stakes, there were still over 40 horses to choose from. However, there was one that stood out from the crowd and that was Noble Dynasty. However, as the card was cut down by over 60%, the card has significantly changed and a new name has emerged in the form of Jumby ridden by Hollie Doyle. Despite a number of issues in recent races, the horse has managed to finish in the top three in 3 of the last four races.
Heart - Fresh
One of the favourites in the betting, is Fresh. Fallon believes that the horse was unlucky last time out at Ascot, he was set to finish strong before unfortunately being bumped and losing his way. An unfortunate accident for the horse but Fallon also believes that racing over seven furlongs instead of six will suit the horse.
Hunch - Tactical
Tactical is a horse that has the potential to cause an upset on the big stage, despite poor form, the horse has gotten stronger and stronger since having wind surgery in January this year. Six months later, the horse looks better than we've seen him in a long time and that is exactly why Kieren Fallon believes that this horse could be a force to be reckoned with.
King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes
Head - Westover
We’ve seen from previous episodes of Fallons Fancies that Kieren Fallon likes the look of Westover and given how the horse has performed, nobody should be surprised. Even with several fantastic names on the card, Westover is still the horse that stands out. Fallon believes that Westover is going to be very hard to beat, but if anyone could, it would be his pick for the heart…
Heart - Emily Upjohn
It’s pretty clear that Fallon would back Emily Upjohn whether the horse was first in the betting or last in the betting because he knows exactly how good this fillie can be. He isn’t quite sure why the horse didn’t quite make it at Curragh but believes that if she had, she would have won the Irish Oaks. We’ve got a fantastic clash between Westover and Emily Upjohn if they both race. Westover looks particularly strong after decimating Tuesday in Curragh but Fallon noticed that Tuesday wasn’t her typical self as she sat back and we can draw a line through that race.
Hunch - Mishriff
Mishriff’s odds are slightly heightened right now after being the unlucky horse in the Eclipse, as the older, more experienced and stronger horse in the race it’s difficult to look beyond the horse. Fallon believes that despite being in slightly poor form since the victory in Saudi Arabia, Mishriff shoould have won the Eclipse and it wouldn’t be a massive surprise if the top two were to be upset by Mishriff.
