Europa League Final Tips & Predictions

Who are the most likely teams to make the 2024 Europa League final?

When it gets to the knockout stages of the competition, we get a clearer picture of the teams who may face-off in the Europa League final come May. This year, the sports betting odds are heavily weighted in the direction of Liverpool as many believe the Europa League will be part of a treble for the club. However, another team with their eyes on a treble this season are Bayer Leverkusen who currently sit top of the Bundesliga and are in a fantastic position to win the DfB Pokal.

We now know that these two teams can't face-off against each other before the final and the final will be one of the following:

Liverpool/Atalanta/Benfica/Marseille Vs AC Milan/Roma/Bayer Leverkusen/West Ham

The first side of the draw looks considerable more favourable towards Liverpool and the second half of the draw looks incredibly competitive. If we are to see an all English final, West Ham United will have their work cut out for them. Liverpool and Leverkusen are the favourites and if those two make the final, the story writes itself.

Last Year's Tips - 2023 (Sevilla Vs Roma)

Sevilla and Roma clash in the Europa League final at the Puskas Arena in Budapest. It promises to be a fantastic showdown between a Sevilla side looking for an incredible seventh Europa League title and a Roma outfit that lifted the Europa Conference League crown last season.

Tip 1 - Roma draw no bet @ evens

After 14 Europa League matches, Jose Mourinho has led his Roma side to a final showdown at the Puskas Arena in Budapest. The Yellow and Reds have been excellent in continental competition this season, and they don’t look likely to falter in the final.

Roma got past a good Leverkusen side in the semi-finals, and it was a typically resolute defensive performance from a Mourinho-managed side. The Yellow and Reds hammered Feyenoord over two legs in the quarter-finals, and they were also pretty impressive in the last-16 tie with Sociedad.

The deep run in Europe has harmed Roma’s Serie A form, but they are a far better side than their league position suggests, and they look an excellent bet on the draw no bet market at even-money in what could be a tense and tactical Budapest showdown.

It’s also fair to suggest that Sevilla are a better team than their La Liga struggles indicate, and their Europa League form, along with their expected goals numbers, back up that argument. Los Nervionenses have certainly improved in the final third of the season, and you have to respect a side with such a tremendous record in this competition. However, Jose Luis Mendilibar’s men certainly enjoyed a fair chunk of fortune in their semi-final clash with Juventus, and they may struggle to see off Roma in Budapest.

Tip 2 - Both teams not to score @ 7/10

Sevilla have kept three clean sheets in eight Europa League contests this season, and one or both teams have failed to score in five of those eight continental contests. Much of Los Nervionenses’ recent progress has come from an improvement in defensive stability, and Mendilibar’s men have conceded only six goals in their last nine La Liga matches.

It’s not hard to envisage Sevilla taking a patient approach, and Mourinho is a past master of pragmatic tactics.

Roma kept a clean sheet in both legs of their semi-final against free-scoring Leverkusen outfit, and the Yellow and Reds have conceded only three goals in eight Europa League knockout matches this season.

Goalscoring machine Salzburg could only find the net once in two matches against Roma in Europe this season, and both Sociedad and Leverkusen failed to breach a resolute Yellow and Red defence in a pair of two-legged ties. Roma are fancied to win this final, but the chances of a free-scoring contest look pretty slim and backing one or both teams not to score at 7/10.
