Overeem v Harris has been on the cards for over 6 months with various postponements pushing the fight to now. With the last fight being postponed, Alistair Overeem instead faced Jairzinho Rosenstruik, who beat him with a brutal knockout with just 4 seconds on the clock. It added another loss to a blighted recent record for Overeem. The experienced Dutchman hasn’t been able to string together more than 2 back to back wins in over 4 years. With his best days behind him, Overeem can surely only hope for a big hit to add to his 23 knockout wins.

If Overeem is hoping to go blow for blow with someone, then we doubt he would have chosen Walt Harris. Fighting for the first time since the tragic loss of his stepdaughter, Harris is a knockout specialist that will be looking for another TKO. Of his 13 wins, all have come by knockout. In fact, 14 of his 21 fights haven’t reached the second round, so be ready for a quick fight. Harris has a few advantages over Overeem in this one. His added weight obviously comes in handy in the heavyweight division, but Harris also has the better recent record.

With both fighters aiming to end this fight in the first round, expecting some huge blows from either side. But, we are backing Harris to pick up his 14th knockout win and put further fuel to the fire that Overeem needs to call it a day.

Gadelha v Hill Betting Tips

The next fight on the card couldn’t be further from Overeem v Harris in terms of fighting style. We move into the women's strawweight division in this fight, as Claudia Gadelha and Angela Hill face off. Gadelha is a pioneer in her field and was actually the winner of the first ever UFC strawweight fight. Recently, Gadelha has established herself as a submission powerhouse in the division. Just 2 of her 17 wins have ended via knockout, with the rest ending through submission, or going the distance. She faces Angela Hill, who is the slightly more powerful of the pair. She’s racked up 5 knockout wins, and is yet to win by submission so her ground game could be exploited here.

Gadelha will have to prepare for some big punches from Angela Hill, but if she can take this fight to the surface then she could pick up an 18th career win. The odds suggest this fight is going the distance, but there is plenty value in backing Gadelha by submission.

Gadelha to win by submission @ 5/1

Ige v Barboza Betting Tips

The third fight on the main card could be one of the more intriguing of the night. In UFC terms, this is youth v experience as Dan Ige (28), takes on Edson Barboza (34). Dan Ige has had an impressive start to his UFC career. Despite losing his first fight, he has since gone 5-0 over the last 2 years. 3 of those fights have gone the distance, so expect him to try and tire Barboza out before attacking in the final round. Barboza has 11 years of experience behind him, but his recent form has left little to be desired. Since 2017 his record is 1-4, although he has fought some impressive fighters in that time.

Barboza is the slight favourite on the night, but looking at his recent fights it’s hard to work out why. If Dan Ige can last into the third round, he can tire Barboza out and pick up another decision win.

Ige To Win On Points @ 2/1

Anders v Jotko Betting Tips

Eryk Anders v Krzysztof Jotko is a fight between two fighters with very different styles. Anders has a knockout ratio of over 60% in his 13 career wins. It was that record that earned Anders a UFC contract, but he has failed to really step up to MMA’s biggest stage. Since entering the UFC, Anders has a record of 5-4, at a couple of different divisions. It’s a similar story for Krzysztof Jotko, who was an undefeated stud coming into the UFC. He has since won 8 fights, 7 via decision. It’s clearly Jotko’s strategy to slow the fight down, tire out his opponent and accumulate points throughout the round.

It’s a strategy that has clearly worked for Jotko so far in his career, so expect a carbon copy against Anders. At odds of 6/5, you won’t find better value throughout this card.

Jotko To Win On Points @ 6/5

Yadong v Vera Betting Tips

Song Yadong was one of the youngest fighters in the UFC when he signed his initial contract, and has impressed since his 2017 debut. 4 wins and a draw make him one of the few fighters with an unbeaten UFC career. That includes 3 ‘Performance of the Night’ fights and although he’s at the bottom of the card here, with form like that he will be headlining in no time. Sadong appears to be an all round quality fighter, with wins by knockout, submission and decision throughout his career. His opponent on Saturday is Marlon Vera, who comes into the fight on the back of 5 consecutive wins. Despite mostly winning by submission, 3 of those wins have come by knockout. A change in strategy could easily work out for Vera, especially considering his explosive win against Andre Ewell back in October.

Vera might have the form behind him, but he’s coming up against an impressive young fighter in Song Yadong. Yadong’s versatility means he should be able to wrap up this win one way or another before the end of Round 3.

Yadong to win in Rounds 1-3 @ 43/20
