Premier League: Matchday 38 Tips: Who will reach the Champions League?

The 2024/25 Premier League season comes to an end on Sunday with all eyes on the race to finish in the top five.

It is three from Manchester City, Newcastle United, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest to join top two Liverpool and Arsenal in the Champions League.

And that surely makes Forest versus Chelsea the game of the day.

Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea

It has been a remarkable season at the City Ground, and there is no reason to think they cannot finish it on a high at home to Chelsea.

Forest emerged from a mini-blip last week with an impressive 2-1 win at West Ham to at least give themselves a sniff of finishing in the top five.

Chelsea has to throw everything at this game even though it falls just three days before their Conference League final against Real Betis.

Enzo Maresca's men have been in decent form, but Forest boast the best home defence in the division and have the pace and power in attack to take the chances that come their way.

Bet Selection: Nottingham Forest to win @ 19/10

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace

FA Cup winners Crystal Palace head to champions Liverpool with nothing on the line, but that could make them dangerous.

Oliver Glasner's men have had an incredible week, beating Manchester City at Wembley to lift their first major piece of silverware and then staying focused enough to beat Wolves 4-2 just a few days later.

Liverpool have definitely lost their spark since clinching the title with no wins in three and Palace have not lost on their last two visits to Anfield.

Bet Selection: Draw-Crystal Palace Double Chance @ 39/20

Wolves vs Brentford

Brentford and Wolves lit up the Gtech Community Stadium in their first meeting of the season in October, a match the Bees won 5-3.

Finishing eighth is out of Brentford's hands now following last week's 3-2 home loss to Fulham, but they will have to give it a go.

Games involving the Bees have been fun-packed affairs this season, averaging 3.27 goals a time. Wolves' fixtures average the same. Only games involving Liverpool and Spurs are more goal-laden.

Wolves will want to bow out on a high after a successful end to the season, while Brentford still, notionally at least, have a European place to play for. To that end, expect fireworks and at least four goals.

Bet Selection: Wolves vs Brentford Over 3.5 Goals @ 5/4

Ipswich Town v West Ham

Ipswich Town have been found out and are going down as dismally as you might expect for a club who were in League One less than 18 months ago.

Four victories all season long is an awful stat, and they haven't won at Portman Road since before the turn of the year.

Last week's 2-0 loss at an equally awful Leicester City looked like the towel going in, and even West Ham can put the Tractor Boys in their place.

The Hammers have also finished the season in abject fashion, yet are 18 points better off than Ipswich and can show why by landing the odds.

Bet Selection: West Ham to win @ 23/20
