Premier League Betting Tips - Gameweek 30
The end of the last international break of the season means it is crunch time in the Premier League, with the last stretch of the campaign seeing battles for the title, Europe and survival all taking place over the next couple of months.
Saturday sees a return of the West Midlands derby as Wolves travel to Aston Villa, while Nottingham Forest host Crystal Palace in a game that could have big ramifications for the battle to avoid the drop.
Each of the top three are in action on Sunday as Liverpool host Europe hopefuls Brighton, while the headline act sees table-toppers Arsenal travel to the Etihad to face reigning champions Manchester City to bring the curtain down on another Premier League weekend.
Newcastle v West Ham - Newcastle to win and Over 2.5 Goals @ 6/5
Eddie Howe’s men have been rife with inconsistency in recent weeks, with their last 10 fixtures across all competitions seeing four wins and three defeats - with losses at Chelsea and Manchester City in their most recent outings.
However, home has offered some more comfort with the Magpies unbeaten in three at St James’ Park and each of these games have entertaining affairs with 15 goals scored across the trio of matches.
The Hammers have struggled away from the London Stadium as of late with four defeats in their last six on the road. This includes their shock exit in the FA Cup to Championship outfit Bristol City and David Moyes' men may have difficulties in keeping out an attack that has been so potent at home as of late.
Brentford v Manchester United - Manchester United to win @ 6/5
A poor 2024 in which Brentford have won just two of 12 matches in all competitions has seen the Bees plummet down the table and into a battle to avoid the drop and their task is not going to be made much easier when they host a Manchester United side that have lost two games this calendar year.
Thomas Frank’s men went into the international break on the back of five defeats from their last six while they have also failed to win any of their last three at the Gtech Community Stadium - although each of these were against members of the “Big Six”.
Another member of England’s footballing elite will visit in the late-kick off and the Red Devils go into this on the back of a memorable 4-3 victory over fierce rivals Liverpool in the FA Cup as confidence and momentum begins to rise for Erik Ten Hag’s men.
United were fortunate to come away with all three points in the reverse fixture - an injury time brace from Scott McTominay salvaging a 2-1 victory in October - but their recent form should leave little room for luck to have an influence on the result, with the visitors a good bet to take all three points.
Liverpool v Brighton - Liverpool to win and Over 2.5 goals @ 11/20
The Reds have not lost at home all season and will be expected to take all three points against a Brighton side that have lost three consecutive away games to nil in all competitions.
Two of these defeats have seen at least three goals scored while no side has scored more home goals in the league this season than Liverpool’s 38 at Anfield and so a high-scoring Reds victory should be in store.
