Premier League Matchday 21 Tips

Matchday 21 in the English top flight covers ten days, with Luton’s trip to Burnley on January 12 the opening encounter.

The pick of the match-ups sees Tottenham travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United, whilst Brighton’s home meeting with Wolves closes the proceedings on January 22.

Tip 1 Nottingham Forest to win @ 14-5

A clash that could have big ramifications at the bottom of the Premier League table sees two sides dangerously close to the bottom three face off as Nottingham Forest travel to Brentford.

The Bees have been in torrid form as of late, losing seven of their last eight games in the league, conceding 17 goals in the process.

This poor run will be further compounded by the loss of Saman Ghoddos (Asia Cup), Frank Onyeka and Yoane Wissa (both AFCON), whilst Bryan Mbeumo is also injured.

The one saving grace for Thomas Frank’s side will be the return of star striker Ivan Toney from his lengthy ban, but a lack of match sharpness may prove to be costly.

Forest meanwhile have had a resurgence under new manager Nuno Espirito Santo, winning each of their last two league games.

These victories over top half sides Newcastle and Manchester United have pulled Forest away from the relegation zone and another three points could send the side eight points clear of the bottom three.

Tip 2 - Manchester United and Tottenham BTTS and over 2.5 goals @ 3-5

An intriguing battle may be in store between two of England’s heavyweights, particularly with the defensive frailties that both Manchester United and Tottenham possess.

Ange Postecoglou has come under criticism for his consistent high line, and this defensive tactic has led to Spurs keeping just one league clean sheet in 11 games.

United meanwhile have shut out opposition attacks twice in their last eight league games, and these issues at the back could open the door for both sets of forwards.

All but three of Tottenham’s games on their travels in all competitions have seen both sides find the net and with two of the last four meetings between these two giants also featuring goals at both ends, expect this run to continue.

Tip 3 - Chelsea to win and Cole Palmer to score anytime @ 2-1

The West London derby between Chelsea and Fulham takes to the stage, with The Blues looking to continue their recent run of good form.

The Blues have won five of their last seven in all competitions, which has helped steady a side that was struggling to find any form of consistency to their performances.

At the centre of this resurgence is Cole Palmer, who has registered three goals and three assists during this run, and he has helped his side close the gap on the European positions.

Palmer has become a mainstay in the Chelsea starting eleven, expect him to start and to have a hand in another Blues victory.
