Turners Novices Chase Odds
The Turners Novices Chase is one of the newer races at the Cheltenham Festival. Since being created in 2011, this race has seen some fantastic battles across the years. However, there has also been a small period of dominance during the race when Ruby Walsh and Willie Mullins won the race three years in a row with Vautour, Black Hercules and Yorkhill. The Turners Novices Chase is the first race of the third day of the Cheltenham Festival and is run on the new course of the Cheltenham racecourse.
About the Turners Novices Chase
The Turners Novices Chase (also known as the Golden Miller Novices Chase) is a grade one race during the National Hunt season, more specifically during the Cheltenham Festival. The race is run on the New course and is run over a distance of 2 miles and 4 furlongs. With 17 fences to be jumped, there are is a lot of room for error in the Novices Chase and it leaves room for horses lower down in the betting odds to have a successful Cheltenham Festival. The race is run on turf, on a left-handed track and for horses to qualify for the race they must be five-years-old and older.
Some big names have won this event and gone on perform well at races such as the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Meanwhile, some horses have performed well at the likes of the Scilly Isles Novices Chase and Sandown Park before going on to race in this event with Defi du Seuil being the standout winner of both races.

Turners Novices Chase Odds 2023
Sitting at the top of the betting odds for the 2023 rendition of the Turners Novices Chase is Mighty Potter, the six year old ran in the Supreme Novices Hurdle in 2022 but pulled up after a strong start. Since then, Mighty Potter won at Punchestown as a 20/1 shout against the likes of Sir Gerhard and Dysart Dynamo and is unbeaten in their last 4 races. So, they definitely justify their selection; however, at odds of 15/2 last year, the horse was heavily backed, so it is understandable if some bettors steer clear this year.
If bettors do steer clear of Mighty Potter, they might wish to look at the likes of Banbridge and El Fabiolo in the ante post betting, they are two horses with a good chance of winning if Mighty Potter puts a foot wrong on race day. As it stands, both of those horses are entered into multiple races and we may see a heavily backed horse take part in a different race than what you've backed. With BetUK's No Runner No Bet offering, if this happens, you'll receive your money back.
