Women's Champions League Betting Odds
The Women’s Champions League grows from strength to strength each year and betting on the UWCL is now better than ever!
Betting on the Women’s Champions League is a great way to get closer to the action and follow every kick alongside the latest odds. Here at BetUK we offer UWCL odds throughout the tournament and go big with scores of markets during the Women’s Champions League final.
This is European football’s biggest women’s club competition and the rise to power of Spanish teams over the past few years means the odds are often weighted to just two or three clubs.
In this guide we’ll explain how the Women’s Champions League works, who are considered the biggest teams in the competition each season, and how you can bet on the UWCL odds.
How Does the Women’s Champions League Work?
The Women’s Champions League works a little differently to the men’s tournament. All but four teams (the champions in Spain, England, Germany and France) enter the tournament in the Round 1, in which teams are split into groups of four and play a semi-final and final each. Those who lose their semi-final have a second chance to progress via a third-place playoff.
Round 2 pits just 24 teams against each other in a typical two-legged match to determine who reaches the group stage. After this, 16 teams remain and compete across four groups of four, with the top two in each group advancing to the quarter-finals. From there, it's a straight knockout.
Now, the Women’s Champions League format is changing from 2025/26 to better reflect the men's tournament. There will be up to three qualification rounds to reach an 18-team league stage. Finish in the top four and you advance to the quarter-finals. Finish in position fifth to 12th and you'll compete in a playoff to reach the quarters. From then it's a straight knockout to the final.
Women’s Champions League Odds and Betting Tips
Betting on Women’s Champions League matches is exactly the same as placing any football bet – with the added difference that there are some big disparities between the teams in the group stage.
This might change in future years but it’s fair to say there’s an elite tier of clubs in the Women’s Champions League, and a secondary tier.
This can affect your Women’s Champions League betting choices, so let’s take a look at some quick tips for the UWCL.
Avoid Draws
There were just 13 draws in 61 matches during the 2023/24 Women’s Champions League. That’s a 21% draw rate, which is lower than most other football tournaments. Such a low draw rate comes from the fact there is often a disparity in the two teams, while home advantage in the UWCL is huge. So, when betting on women’s football in the Champions League be wary of backing the draw.
Finals Produce Goals
The six UWCL finals between 2019 and 2024 produced 24 goals, at an average of four goals a game. The same finals in the men's tournament produced just eight goals (1.3 per game). The UWCL final is usually much more entertaining and great for goal betting. Set the bar higher with an over/under of 3.5 goals and get better odds.
Goals Spread Across Teams
There is less of a reliance on single superstars in the UWCL compared to the men's tournament. Goals are spread more evenly across teams, with Lyon's Kadidiatou Diani winning the golden boot in 2023/24 having scored just eight times. This depth is great for betting on outsiders to score – particularly defenders.
Don’t Bank on the English
Arsenal are the only English team to ever win the Women’s Champions League, and that came back in 2007. The tournament has changed massively since then and now it’s harder than ever for English teams to win it. Part of the reason is the WSL itself is hugely competitive, which means no one has an easy ride each weekend. Fitting UWCL games into a hectic domestic calendar means English teams are less favoured to win in Europe.
Spain Holds the Power
Barcelona’s huge investment into its women’s team means they are usually the favourites for each UWCL campaign. Their rivals Madrid have been far less successful. Barca are now so dominant in Liga F that they can afford to rest players ahead of big UWCL games – unlike the English teams. Barca are always one of the favourites to win the Women’s Champions League and for good reason.
Women’s Champions League Previous Winners
The Women’s Champions League only launched in 2001 and it has been dominated by teams from five nations: England, Spain, France, Germany and Sweden. Arsenal are, as of 2024, the only British club to ever win the Women’s Champions League.
The game has come a long way over the past two decades. The Women’s Champions League final used to be two-legged, with less than 800 fans watching the first leg of Duisburg's 7-1 aggregate thrashing of Zvezda Perm in Russia back in 2009.
In 2024 Barcelona beat Lyon 2-0 in Bilbao in front of more than 50,800 fans.

Who Will Win the Women’s Champions League?
If you’re looking to bet on the Women’s Champions League winner then your best option is probably to go for a team from Spain, France, England or Germany. These are the Power Four of women’s European football and their leagues are much stronger than any others on the continent.
Lyon and Paris are the big hitters from France, while Barcelona dominate the Spanish league. Wolfsburg and Munich usually battle it out in Germany. As for England, the WSL has Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City knocking on the door of trophies.
Who will win the Champions League in 2024/25? It’s too close to call – but you can be pretty confident that a club from those top four European leagues will lift the trophy.
