Last Time Out In The Championship

Swansea couldn’t continue their winning start to the Championship season but are still unbeaten heading into their next game. This was the first time that Swansea City had been under pressure this season. The Swans defended well against a Birmingham side that dominated the first half. Debutant keeper Erwin Mulder produced a series of saves as Birmingham’s forward line peppered the Swansea goal. They even had a first half goal ruled out for a foul on Mulder. The Jack Army can look back on the game as a point gained rather than 2 points lost and will be happy to escape St Andrew’s unscathed.

Last Time Out In The Championship

Leeds look like the team to beat this season. Marcelo Bielsa has brought his continental style football to Yorkshire and so far, it’s going exactly to plan. 3 wins out of 3 have attracted plaudits from around the country. Against Rotherham at the weekend, Leeds weren’t as dominant but still managed a 2-0 win. Leeds might have been fortunate not to fall behind, after Rotherham hit the post in the first half. But an early second half goal from Luke Ayling calmed any worries of defeat. Bielsa’s teams are known for constant pressing and quick movement. Swans fans will be hoping that 2 games in 4 days might start to have an effect on this Leeds squad.

Swansea City v Leeds United Head to Head

This will be the first time that Swansea and Leeds face each other since the 2010/11 Championship season. The last match was a 3-0 Swansea win, thanks to goals from Scott Sinclair and Luke Moore. Nathan Dyer is the only remaining player from both clubs that could still take part this weekend. The reverse fixture that year saw Leeds come from behind to win 2-1. Prior to that season, the 2 teams had rarely met. In 2007, both teams had a win apiece, but the previous meetings date back to the 80’s.

Where to Watch and Where To Listen
