Sports Betting On The Cheltenham Festival

The Cheltenham Festival is one of the biggest sporting events of the year. Every March, the world's best horses, trainers and jockeys head to Cheltenham for 4 days of world class racing. With 7 races each day, there are plenty of opportunities for horse racing betting. This year, the Cheltenham Festival runs from Tuesday 10th to Friday 13th March.

Each day, the racing starts at 1:30 and continues until the final race at 5:30, with all races shown live on ITV. There is also a feature race at 3:30 each day that every racing fan looks forward to. Tuesday has the Champion Hurdle, Wednesday features the Champion Chase, on Thursday there is the Stayers Hurdle and finally Friday has the Gold Cup. The Gold Cup is by far the biggest race of the Festival and is a perfect pinnacle to the weeks racing. Throughout the week, you can get the latest horse racing betting odds over at Bet UK’s online betting. You can also check out our ante post odds in the lead up to the Festival, with No Runner No Bet offered on the biggest race of each day.

Champion Hurdle Sports Betting Odds

Bet On The Champion Hurdle

The early front runner for the Champion Hurdle is Epatante, who’s currently 11/4 with Bet UK. Nicky Henderson’s runner took part in the Cheltenham Festival last year, but failed to impress despite starting as a 15/4F favourite. Since then he has won two races out of two, including a win at Kempton’s Christmas Hurdle. Backing Epatante up are Benie Des Dieux (11/4), Envoi Allen (9/2) and Honeysuckle (9/2). All 3 have a decent shout at claiming a Champion Hurdle victory, particularly Envoi Allen and Honeysuckle, who are both unbeaten in their careers. Champion Chase Sports Betting Odds

Bet On The Champion Chase

Nicky Henderson has another ante post favourite in Altior for the 2020 Champion Chase. At 2/1, it’s hard to argue against anyone other than Altior winning this race. He is a 5 time winner at Cheltenham, and barring a disappointing showing at Ascot, Altior has been perfect throughout his career. Likely ridden by Nico de Boinville, this is one of the horses that Nicky Henderson will have 100% confidence in. Hoping to steal the spoils are Defi Du Seuil (9/4), Chacun Pour Soi (5/2) and A Plus Tard (7/1). For the views of our horse racing tipster, here’s Bet UK’s Champion Chase betting tips.

Stayers Hurdle Sports Betting Odds

Bet On The Stayers Hurdle

Altior might be a heavy favourite in the Champion Chase, but Paisley Park is the shortest ante post favourite ahead of the Cheltenham Festival. Paisley Park is 20/31 at Bet UK’s online betting as things stand. It’s no surprise that he has such short odds and really, his odds will likely drop even further as the Festival approaches. Last year, Paisley Park dominated the Stayers Hurdle, winning by nearly 3 lengths, despite making mistakes on the approach. He’ll face steeper competition this year with Benie Des Dieux (5/2) set to enter the 2020 Stayers Hurdle. Benie Des Dieux is a winner at the Festival, which is always a key factor to look at when picking a horse at Cheltenham. To see who our horse racing tipster chose for their pick, take a look at Bet UK’s Stayers Hurdle betting tips.

Gold Cup Sports Betting Odds

Bet On The Gold Cup

The Gold Cup is the biggest race of the Cheltenham Festival and the ante post odds are closer than for any other race. Al Boum Photo and Santini are both 7/2 to win the Gold Cup, with Delta Work just behind them at 5/1. Al Boum Photo is the obvious pick after winning the 2019 Gold Cup. In the last 96 years, only 6 horses have won back to back Gold Cups, so we could see history on Friday afternoon. Santini isn’t a Cheltenham Festival winner, but he did win at Trials Day back in January. The recent form points towards Santini being up there with the favourites, but he doesn't quite have the pedigree of Al Boum Photo. Finally, Delta Work did win the Cheltenham Festival Handicap Hurdle back in 2018, but the Gold Cup is a huge step up compared to that race. If you want to see the views of our horse racing tipster, then here’s Bet UK’s Gold Cup betting tips.

Horse Racing Betting at Bet UK

At Bet UK’s online betting, we’ve got a huge selection of horse racing betting markets. Throughout the Cheltenham Festival, you’ll be able to bet on every race. As well as betting on an outright winner, there are plenty of different types of bet you can place. You can choose a ’Forecast’, which is where you choose the order of the first two horses. We also offer Place Only betting if you expect a horse to come close, or Betting w/o Favourite, if you are looking for some shorter odds for an outsider. Finally, the Match Betting pits two horses directly against each other, so the official result can be ignored, it’s just between the two horses offered. Even when the Cheltenham Festival is finished, Bet UK offers these markets on all UK and Irish racing.
