Online Sports Betting Strategies
When placing your sports bets, it’s important to have a strategy in place. One strategy that can be applied to almost all sports betting is to look at the previous form. Looking back at a teams, players, or horses form can give you an idea of how they expect to perform in their next event. If a team has won their last 5 matches, there’s a good chance that they will win their next one. When you’re actually placing your sports bets, placing small bets to build your bankroll is a popular betting strategy. This gives you a chance to slowly build up a bankroll, as well as limiting the amount that you are betting each time. With smaller bets, you can also experiment with new sports betting markets.
The Best Sports Betting Events
There are several sporting events throughout the year that provide plenty of markets for sports betting. Some of the highlights of the sports betting calendar include:
The Grand National - Ran at Aintree each April, the Grand National is one of the most exciting races of the horse racing calendar. The race captures the imagination of the whole country with millions placing horse racing bets and tuning in to watch the race live. At Bet UK, we will be covering the Grand National with betting tips, Grand National betting offers, as well as information on the jockeys and trainers that will be taking part.
Premier League Football - The Premier League brings the world best players together for action every weekend. Football betting is one of the most popular markets for online sports betting, with the Premier League being a major part of that. Bet UK will offer pre match and in play markets for every match in the 18/19 Premier League season.
Wimbledon - Wimbledon is the main event in tennis, making it the best event for your tennis betting. Wimbledon regularly captures the attention of the entire British public every July. The biggest tennis players from around the world always describe Wimbledon as their favourite tournament to play.
Online Sports Betting Useful Terms
There are plenty of markets and terms that can be quite confusing for people who are new to sports betting. To help you get started, Bet UK have put together a small list of the most common sports betting terms.
Each Way - Each way betting is most commonly found in horse racing betting and greyhound betting. Each way allows you to split your overall stake between your selection winning, and them finishing in the places just behind the winner. Half of your stake will be placed on your selection to finish in the top positions. For example, if your selection only finishes 2nd, you can still expect some return from your each way bet.
Rule 4 - Rule 4 is another common horse racing betting term. If you place a bet on a horse, and another horse in the race then pulls out, Rule 4 will come into effect. As your horse now hypothetically has less competition in the race, your returns will be changed to reflect that. If Rule 4 comes into place, then you can expect less returns from your bets.
Asian Handicap - Asian Handicap is a market that is specific to football betting. Asian handicap bets will place a hypothetical goal advantage or goal disadvantage on a team. For example, an Asian Handicap of -1 will start a team on -1 goals, so they have to win by 2 clear goals for the Asian Handicap bet to result as a win.
