How to get to Bramall Lane

Driving to Bramall Lane From Swansea

The fastest way to drive to Bramall Lane from Swansea is by heading along the M4 until you reach exit 43. Come off the M4 and follow the A465 and A40 until you reach the M50 in Hertfordshire. Follow signs to Leicestershire along the M5, M42 and A42 until you are onto the M1. Once you are on the M1, continue driving until coming off at exit 29. From there, Bramall Lane should be signposted along the A617 and A61.

When you get near Bramall Lane, there are a few smaller car parks that are within a 20 minute walk of the ground. Sylvester Street, Broom Close, G Casino and The Moor car parks are all nearby, although The Moor has the most car parking spaces available.

Trains From Swansea To Bramall Lane

Trains to Bramall Lane require 1 change at Stockport, but from Stockport it is a short journey to Bramall Lane. On Saturday 4th August, trains are travelling between Swansea and Sheffield from 7am, with the journey taking just over 5 hours in total. Trains as late as 11:29 will get you to Sheffield with 45 minutes before the match starts. Sheffield Station is just under a mile away from Bramall Lane, so it shouldn’t take long to get there.

If you are hoping to travel there and back on the same day, the only train available is the 19:24. This might mean leaving the match a couple of minutes early, as the next train requires an overnight stop in Cardiff. The 19:24 will arrive back at Swansea Station at 00:28 on Sunday 5th August.

Hotels Near Bramall Lane

With Bramall Lane being quite a central ground that is close to both motorways and Sheffield station, there are a number of hotels to choose from. If you are looking for hotels that are closest to Bramall Lane, then the Copthorne Hotel, Novotel Sheffield Centre and Mercure Sheffield St Paul’s Hotel are all close. With the hotels being very central, they are a bit more expensive however. Jonas Hotel is just over a mile away from the ground, but is almost half the price of most of the big chains for 1 night on the 4th August.

Pubs For Swansea Football Fans Near Bramall Lane

Pubs that are very close to the ground are mostly for home fans, so Swansea City fans will have to travel a bit further from Bramall Lane. About 10 minutes away from the ground, the Sheaf Island is a Wetherspoons pub that has a fair mixture of both home and away fans. On Cemetery Road just behind Waitrose is the Beer Engine, with the Devonshire Cat a little further away on Wellington Street. The Devonshire Cat does have bouncers on the door 2 hours before and after the match, but away fans are allowed to wear their teams colours.
