Graham Potter reflects on the Blackburn match

After Swansea’s 3-1 win against Blackburn, Graham Potter used his press conference to look back on the Swans turnaround in the second half.

“It was a great response. Goals change the complexion of a game, they change your thinking in a big way. We became passive in the first half and needed to change the dynamic at half time.”

“After (half time), the response was fantastic.” Potter told reporters, “We played some good, attacking football. But at the same time, they could have scored a couple, that’s the nature of the game. I was delighted with the response of the team.”

Swansea City’s Squad Rotation

Much has been made about Graham Potter’s squad rotation in the Championship this season, particularly after 5 changes were made midweek.

“Yeah of course, these games aren’t easy” Potter responded when asked if the rotation of his squad was difficult. “But we have a number of young players making their debut, it’s a young team. A lot of players have stepped up from u23’s to 3 games a week in the Championship, and we need to manage that.”

Looking ahead to Reading at the weekend

Reading have started the season in worrying form, but Potter knows what to expect from Paul Clements’ side.

“They are a team that is well organised, a team that will be aware of where they are defending and how they want to defend.”

“Paul is a top coach with great experience in football, he can organise his team really well. Like in all games, if you don’t play well and it’s not your day, then it will be a difficult game for us.”

Potter told the press “”It doesn’t matter what the league table says, teams don’t roll over”

“Everybody starts level and everybody starts with a determination, an organisation. We have to play well and do what we want to do.”
