Premier League Golden Boot Predictions

Premier League Golden Boot Predictions at Bet UK

As the top teams battle out for the Premier League trophy, there will be a few star players who will be hoping to take home a trophy of their own at the end of the season. The Premier League Golden Boot is fiercely contested each year. Forwards might try to cool down the interest in the trophy, but there is no doubt that it is on the players minds. Last year, Mo Salah took home the trophy with a record breaking 32 goals in just 38 Premier League games. It had been Harry Kane’s before then and the Spurs striker will surely be wanting it back.

Premier League Golden Boot - Mo Salah

Mohamed Salah blew the Premier League away with 32 goals for Liverpool. The ‘Egyptian King’ returned to the Premier League following an unsuccessful spell at Chelsea in 2014. Spells in Italy at Roma and Fiorentina proved that Salah had talent, perhaps pointing the finger at Jose Mourinho for poor management. After several match winning performances for Roma, Jurgen Klopp signed the forward for £32m. Not even the most optimistic of Liverpool fans would have expected that Salah would have the effect that he did. Salah scored on his debut against Watford and was in form from that moment. No defence in the league could contain the electric striker, who was part of the one of the best attacking trios in Europe. With Liverpool’s new look midfield creating more chances next year, it could be another season that is dominated by Mo Salah.

Premier League Golden Boot - Harry Kane

Harry Kane has been the golden boy of the Premier League since his breakout in 2014. In 2016 and 2017, Kane became the 5th player to win back to back Golden Boot awards. Although 2018 was his best goal scoring season with 30 goals, it still wasn’t enough to knock Mo Salah off his perch. After 6 goals at the 2018 World Cup, Kane will be hungry for more Premier League goals. In past years, Kane has been known not to score in August, so it might not make a difference if he misses Tottenham’s opening game. Throughout the World Cup, Kane benefited from Kieran Trippier’s world class delivery. Trippier will surely claim the right back role as his own now at Tottenham, which could help Kane’s cause next season.

Premier League Golden Boot - Pierre Emerick Aubameyang

2018/19 will be Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s first full season in the Premier League after joining Arsenal in January. The Gabon international is well known for his goal scoring exploits in Germany with Borussia Dortmund, scoring over 20 goals in each of his 3 season in the Bundesliga. After joining Arsenal, Aubameyang scored 10 goals in just 13 Premier League appearances. If he continued that form for a full season, he would finish on 29 goals. Aubameyang is a nightmare for all opposition defenders, with electric speed and a clinical finish. Ex-Borussia Dortmund teammate Henrikh Mkhitaryan has also joined him at Arsenal. If the 2 can combine like they did in Germany, then there will be plenty of goals in Arsenal’s side next year.

Premier League Golden Boot - Sergio Aguero

Since he joined Manchester City in 2011, Sergio Aguero has been one of the most consistent strikers in the league. Immediately cementing himself in City’s history books after his title winning goal against QPR, Aguero will always be a favourite at the Etihad. Last year, despite only playing 25 games, he still scored 21 goals. It was the 4th year in a row that he had scored 20+ goals. As part of Pep Guardiola’s unstoppable Manchester City team, there is bound to be chances available for Aguero. Sane, Sterling, De Bruyne and Silva were the league’s 4 top assist makers last season. With such a strong, creative midfield behind him, Aguero is bound to score hatfuls next season.

Premier League Golden Boot - Romelu Lukaku

Lukaku’s debut season for Manchester United wasn’t perfect, but he still scored 16 Premier League goals. It might not be the Belgian’s best return in Premier League football, but there were still plenty of reasons to remain hopeful. Jose Mourinho's team did not play the most attacking football last season, something that earned Mourinho criticism from Red Devils fans. This might have been what led to Lukaku’s worse season since 14/15. Without the proper service, Lukaku found it difficult to score consistently. With Alexis Sanchez, Pogba and Lingard all on form next season however, he could see a lot more chances fall to him. There’s no doubting that Lukaku has ability, after all he scored 25 goals for Everton before joining Manchester United. So, the responsibility must fall to those who play behind him. If he gets good service, Lukaku all but guarantees you goals.
