Premier League Golden Boot Predictions

19/20 Premier League Golden Boot Betting Tips

While the top teams will be battling out to see who becomes Premier League Champions, on a personal level, the best players will have their eyes set on the Premier League Golden Boot. The Golden Boot is awarded to the top scorer of the league and although it isn’t at the forefront of everyone’s mind, those who are in the race have admitted to it becoming more important as the season goes on. Bet UK have taken a look at some of the betting favourites for the Premier League Golden Boot.

Harry Kane - 4/1 To Win The Premier League Golden Boot

Team: Tottenham Hotspur

Goals Scored Last Season: 17 (28)

Total Premier League Goals: 125 (181)

Despite being injured for a portion of last season, Harry Kane still managed to rack up 17 goals in just 28 appearances. The England striker has consistently been amongst the top scorers for the last 5 years and seems to only get better each year. The only worry for Spurs is Kane’s injury record. It’s very rare that Kane gets a summer off and has played almost consistently since his debut in 2011. If he can stay fit, then he will not only be a shoe in for the Premier League Golden Boot, but he could lead Spurs on a push for the title at the end of the year.

Mo Salah - 5/1 To Win The Premier League Golden Boot

Team: Liverpool

Goals Scored Last Season: 22 (38)

Total Premier League Goals: 56 (87)

Since joining Liverpool in the summer of 2017, no player has even come close to scoring the same amount of goals as Mo Salah. The Egyptian has scored 54 goals in the last two years, winning the Golden Boot in 2 consecutive years. Even after a slower, less impressive season last year, he scored 22 goals, which shows just how much is expected of Salah. His sheer volume of goals is helped by his role in Liverpool’s side. Along with Firmino and Mane, he forms arguably the best front 3 in the world and is often on the end of a chance created by his partners. Unlike Kane, he also has no problems staying fit and played all 38 games last season. Add that on top of a Champions League run and an African Cup of Nations this summer however, and he will do well to play consistently next year.

Sergio Aguero - 11/2 To Win The Premier League Golden Boot

Team: Manchester City

Goals Scored Last Season: 21 (33)

Total Premier League Goals: 164 (239)

There are few strikers more clinical in world football than Sergio Aguero. The Argentine has consistently scored for Man City for the last 7 years and shows no signs of slowing down. Last year, he managed 21 goals in just 33 games. The issue with Aguero is his injury record however, which limits his opportunity to score as much as he probably should. Last year, he actually had his most appearances since back in 2011/12. If he stays fit, and keeps his place in the starting XI, then Aguero almost guarantees you 20 goals a season.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang - 8/1 To Win The Premier League Golden Boot

Team: Arsenal

Goals Scored Last Season: 22 (36)

Total Premier League Goals: 32 (49)

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is the player with the least Premier League experience in this list, but also the player with the best goals to games ratio. In just 49 games since joining Arsenal, Aubameyang has scored a remarkable 32 goals. Add his 9 assists into the mix and Auba has contributed to 41 goals in 49 games, a stat that can’t be matched across the league. Towards the end of last season, his partnership with Alexandre Lacazette only seemed to be getting better. If that can blossom even further into next season then Aubameyang could be the key to firing Arsenal back into the top 4.

Sadio Mane - 11/1 To Win The Premier League Golden Boot

Team: Liverpool

Goals Scored Last Season: 22 (36)

Total Premier League Goals: 66 (159)

Sadio Mane has never been known as an out and out scorer but that all changed last season. In just 36 games, Mane scored half as many goals as he had in his previous 123 games. 22 goals represents his career high for a season and it’s reasonable to expect him to impress again next season. With Mo Salah stepping off the gas a little, Mane stepped up and took over some of the goal scoring duties. As we mentioned when talking about Salah, Firmino almost acts as a facilitator in this lineup and provides chances for his 2 wingers. If chances fall to Mane, expect him to finish them and have another 20 goal season.

Raheem Sterling - 11/1 To Win The Premier League Golden Boot

Team: Manchester City

Goals Scored Last Season: 17 (34)

Total Premier League Goals: 66 (226)

The lowest scorer last season to feature on this list, Raheem Sterling still has the potential to become the best player in the league. People forget that Sterling is still just 24 and already has over 200 Premier League appearances under his belt. He’s already a guaranteed starter for the reigning champions and he is still getting better every year under Pep Guardiola. In all competitions, Sterling has improved his goal scoring in his last 3 years. Alongside Aguero, he might not get all the chances that he would get in another team, but City still score and create more than any other side. It’s inevitable that Sterling will be on the end of some of those chances, and if he can become even more selfish, then he can push for 20+ goals.

Each year, there is always one surprise star who will be in the running for the Golden Boot. As long as there are plenty of goals throughout the year, then the Premier League will still be the most exciting league in the world.
