Manchester United’s resurgence under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems to have come to an end and the top 4 are slowly pulling away. Against Everton on Sunday, they were as poor as they have been all season. After missing chances early on, Richarlison put Everton ahead on 13 minutes with an acrobatic effort from close range. United applied pressure, but Everton took advantage on the counter attack. The ball fell to Gylfi Siggurdson who fired into the bottom corner from distance, although David De Gea was slow to react and should have saved it. Not much changed in the second half and before United had a chance to fight back, Everton made it 3. Lucas Digne grabbed his 4th goal of the season after a corner fell to him on the volley. Just past the hour mark and any hope of a comeback were killed as Theo Walcott used his pace and beat De Gea one on one. Man United finally hit their first shot on target after 85 minutes, but there are few players who will want to look back at their performance. The defeat leaves United in 6th, 3 points outside the top 4 before their game in hand.

Manchester City’s Recent Form
Last Time Out In The Premier League
After an exhilarating Champions League game just 3 days earlier, Manchester City and Spurs played out a calmer affair in the Premier League. Phil Foden grabbed his first Premier League goal after just 5 minutes after a smart header from Sergio Aguero. Rather than heading towards the bottom corner at the back post, Aguero headed across goal and gave Foden a simple finish into an empty net. Both sides had chances in a tight game, but it was the goalkeepers who came out of the game with the most credit. Both Ederson and Paulo Gazzaniga produced save after save to keep their teams in the game. One main worry for City will be the injury to Kevin De Bruyne, who looks like he could be out for the season at this point. Although City have enough quality to replace him, there is no doubt that De Bruyne is one of their most important players. City come into the Manchester Derby 2nd on 86 points, making a win in their game in hand vital for the title run in.
Where’s the Value Bet?
Sergio Aguero is one of the greatest strikers of the modern era and has an impressive record against a range of teams. Few records are more impressive than his 9 goals in just 10 Manchester derbies however. Since joining the Citizens in 2011, Aguero has consistently performed well against Manchester United, including a goal in City’s 6-1 rout at Old Trafford. Against a poor United defence, and with Aguero again in good form, expect him to grab some early goals at Old Trafford to settle the nerves.
