Chelsea v Liverpool Betting Tips
After 2 disappointing results in midweek, Chelsea and Liverpool face each other hoping not to suffer from a European hangover. Chelsea lost 1-0 to Valencia on their return to the Champions League, with Liverpool losing for the second season in a row at Napoli. In the league however, Liverpool are the team to beat, after winning their opening 5 games. Chelsea have yet to win at home this season, but have still shown signs of improvement under Frank Lampard.

Chelsea’s Premier League Form
Last Time Out For Chelsea
Chelsea put together their best performance of the season in a commanding 5-2 win over Wolves at Molineux. Chelsea’s young players were again the star of the show as Fikayo Tomori opened his goal scoring account with a 40 yard screamer after 30 minutes. Before halftime it was 3-0, as in form Tammy Abraham grabbed another 2 goals from close range. Abraham completed his hattrick on 55 minutes, taking his tally to 7 goals in 5 games this season. Abraham was again involved on 69 minutes, but this time at the other end as his own goal gave Wolves some hope. A late Patrick Cutrone goal threatened a comeback, but Mason Mount continued his great run to add a late 5th for Chelsea. Chelsea are the top scorers outside the top 3 and with Tammy Abraham on form, you’d expect him to score again this weekend.
Liverpool’s Premier League Form
Last Time Out For Liverpool
Liverpool continued their perfect start to the season with a 3-1 win over Newcastle at Anfield. It wasn’t all plain sailing however, as a Jetro Willems thunderbolt gave Newcastle a shock lead after just 7 minutes. The lead only lasted 20 minutes before Sadio Mane cut in onto his right foot and curled a shot into the far corner to equalise. A Martin Dubravka error just before half time gave Mane the perfect chance to score again and send Liverpool into the break ahead. That goal gave Liverpool the confidence they needed and seemed to knock the enthusiasm out of Newcastle, who offered little going forward. Robert Firmino came on as a sub but was easily the best player on the pitch, and it was his touch that set Mo Salah away to make it 3-1 with 20 minutes left. The game slowly died out from there and Liverpool made it 5 wins from 5. The only worrying part of Liverpool’s play will be there defence, which has only kept 1 clean sheet from 7 games in all competitions so far.
Where’s The Value Bet?
Both of these sides have started the season in goalscoring form, whilst neither team can boast a rock solid defence. If anything, that points towards what should be a highly entertaining game on Sunday. In a combined 10 Premier League games this season, Chelsea and Liverpool have been involved in 41 goals. That’s just over 4 goals a game so it would be a big shock if we don’t see a few goals. On Bet UK’s online sportsbook, we’ve gone for over 3.5 goals in this game, which looks to be a good price at 29/20.
How To Watch Chelsea v Liverpool
Liverpool v Chelsea will be shown live on Sky Sports from 4:30pm on Sunday 22nd September.
Bet UK’s Headline Betting Tip
I think Chelsea and Frank Lampard will want to prove a point at Stamford Bridge and get into Liverpool straight from kick off. An early goal seems inevitable for one of the teams and we’ve gone for the home side to take the advantage.
