Real Madrid To Beat Valencia @ 20/57 - 21:00, Thursday 18th June
The first game of an incredible weekend of Spanish football is Real Madrid v Valencia on Thursday. Real Madrid are our pick in this one after their 3-1 win over Eibar. It wasn’t a stereotypical Real performance in that game, but Madrid still had enough quality to see out the win. In truth, they could have scored 5 or 6 that game. The reintroduction of Gareth Bale will be one for all fans to watch, as we all know his quality when he is given plenty of time on the pitch. If he can help Karim Benzema with his goalscoring then the end of the season could be a much smoother ride for Real. Against Valencia, they’ll face a side that hasn’t been as strong as expected in La Liga. Despite their impressive performances in the Champions League, Valencia sit 8th domestically. They disappointed with a 1-1 draw against Levante and will likely struggle again at the Bernabeu.
Barcelona To Beat Sevilla @ 10/11 - 21:00, Friday 19th June
Barcelona have been as good as ever since La Liga restarted. Lionel Messi has continued to drag the Catalans to victories, even when some of their team have struggled. He’s scored 2 goals in 2 games so far and won a penalty in spectacular fashion against Leganes after a 40 yard run into the box. Ansu Fati also grabbed his 5th goal of the season as the future of Barcelona starts to make an impact on the first team. Whilst Martin Braithwaite has been brought into the side recently, Luis Suarez is almost back to full fitness and will undoubtedly take his side to the next level. On Friday, they face a Sevilla side who haven’t beaten them in the league in almost 5 years. With Barcelona on track for another La Liga title, don’t expect that record to change on Friday.
Atletico Madrid To Beat Valladolid @ 4/11 - 21:00, Saturday 20th June
Arguably one of the performances of the La Liga restart so far came from Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night. Joao Felix led a 5-0 demolition of Osasuna, the first time they’ve scored more than 3 times this season. It’s another sign that Atletico are finally getting back to their best, after some disappointing results this year. Particularly Joao Felix, who after a slow start to his career in Madrid, has scored 4 goals in his last 5. At just 20 years old, Felix could be the next player in a long line of incredible Atletico strikers. Marcos Llorente, Alvara Morata and Yannick Carrasco also added to their goals this season. If Atletico’s forward line can finally match their world class defence, Diego Simeone’s side will easily clinch a Champions League place. Against Valladolid, they’ll face a side that has only scored 25 goals this season. Seeing as Atletico have the best defence in Spain, it’s tough to see them having any troubles on Saturday night.
