La Liga Betting Tips - 3nd July
After the midweek results, the La Liga title race is as wide open as ever. Barcelona missed the chance to move back into top, whilst Real Madrid took advantage of their rivals poor performances. Atletico Madrid prove to be one of the beneficiaries of the mid-season break, rising up to 3rd. The battle for Europe is also as close as it has been in Spain for a few years, with all of the top half still in with a realistic chance of making next year’s Europa League.

Atletico Madrid To Beat Mallorca @ 20/73- 21:00, Friday 3rd July
Atletico Madrid continued their recent upturn in form with a 2-2 draw away at Barcelona. In a controversial opening 20 minutes, Diego Costa scored an own goal to give Barcelona the lead. 8 minutes later, Saul Niguez missed a penalty, only for VAR to order it to be taken again. Saul scored his second effort, levelling the scores at the break. 5 minutes after the break, Lionel Messi equalised from the spot before Saul scored another penalty, making the score 2-2. It was a typical Atletico performance, and Diego Simeone’s side look to be getting back to their best. On Friday night, they won’t face any issues against an almost relegated Mallorca side. Mallorca have only scored 20 goals all season, and that is likely to change against Europe’s best defence.
Granada To Beat Valencia @ 19/10 - 21:00, Saturday 4th July
There aren’t any huge games on Saturday in La Liga, but the midtable game between Granada and Valencia might be the most intriguing. Both sides are having contrasting seasons. Valencia are massively underperforming, whereas Granada are 9th after being widely tipped for relegation in pre season. With both sides still in with an outside chance of qualifying for the Europa League, this should be an exciting game. We’re backing Granada to win however, given Valencia’s recent troubles. They are without a win in 3 games, and are currently under their 3rd manager of the season. Compare that to Granada’s bounce back win at the weekend and these two clubs seem to be heading in different directions.
Barcelona To Beat Villareal @ 20/27 - 21:00, Saturday 5th July
The league title is no longer in Barcelona’s hands after poor form, making every game a must win for Quique Setien. That must win mentality has to start with their game against Villareal, and although it won’t be a walk in the park, you can’t ignore their obvious quality. After scoring his 700th goal for Barcelona in midweek, Lionel Messi has continued to drag Barcelona through the last few weeks. He is the type of player who always turns up when the pressure is at his highest, so don’t be surprised if we see some much better performances from Barcelona. Villareal are on a good run since the restart, but again, Barcelona are often the team to turn up and ruin the party. Real Madrid play earlier in the day on Sunday, so we could see some added motivation regardless of the result for Barca.
