Feature Races on Cheltenham Trials Day

With many runners expected to head the 2022 Cheltenham Festival, getting some experience of the old course is a must at this meeting. Trials Day features four Grade 2 races in which punters can take a close look at the horse racing betting markets, including the Cleeve Hurdle, the Cotswold Chase and the Juvenile Hurdle trial. With those races set to feature top runners, our tipster has picked out their top Cheltenham Tips from UK horse racing today, so you'll be able to make an educated bet.

Nap of the Day

Champ - 3:05 - Cheltenham (Cleeve Hurdle)

The Cleeve Hurdle is the leading trial for the Stayers' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, which is why many of the potential runners heading to that event will look to get one final run in this race. Last year's winner, Paisley Park is expected to feature, but our selection in UK horse racing markets is Champ. Victorious last time out at Ascot in the Long Walk Hurdle, he seems to relish being back over hurdles which is why we're backing him to pick up another victory here.

Dark Horse of the Day

**Iceo - 12:45 Cheltenham (Juvenile Hurdle Trial)

The Juvenile Hurdle is one of the feature races on the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival, and it's here we've picked out our Nap in UK Horse Racing today in the form of Iceo. Trained by Paul Nicholls, he picked up a win at the Kempton Winter Festival in the hands of Bryony Frost over a similar distance, although in that race, the going conditions were on the softer side, so he may have to face conditions, not to his liking. He's expected to head to post at the same weight as his previous win, and at odds of 2/1, he looks good value.

Longshot of the Day

Santini - 2:30 Cheltenham (Cotswold Chase)

It wasn't so long ago that Santini topped UK horse racing betting markets, and we're backing him to get back to winning ways in the 2022 Cotswold Chase. Now trained by Polly Gundry, the ten-year-old finished fourth in the Betfair Handicap Chase back in December and finished third in this race last year. Today's going conditions will suit his running style, and given that this race is over three miles, we expect a strong performance.
