Bet UK’s Hit The Target Treble - Week 22
After a week of FA Cup action, the Premier League returns with a full set of fixtures to look forward to. As always, Bet UK have a Hit The Target Treble for the Saturday 3pm fixtures. We’re taking a look at each of the teams in the treble and weigh up their chances ahead of the weekend.
Leicester will be grateful to be back in Premier League action after their FA Cup embarrassment against Newport last weekend. While their FA Cup form will have let Claude Puel down, in the league, they have picked up wins recently. 3 wins in their last 4 against Chelsea, Manchester City and Everton prove that this Leicester side are still pushing for European football. Southampton on the other hand, are struggling for form under new manager Ralph Hasenhuttl. Since beating Arsenal and Huddersfield, Southampton are winless in 3 and have already lost 8 times on the road this season. Earlier this season, Harry Maguire’s late goal gave Leicester a deserved win against Southampton at St Mary’s.
After 2 defeats in a row in the league and FA Cup, Liverpool will be wanting to prove that they still have what it takes to win the Premier League. Despite their defeat to Manchester City, they still sit 4 points clear at the top of the table. Based on past results, a match against Brighton might be the ideal opportunity for Liverpool to bounce back. In 3 games since the Seagulls were promoted, Liverpool have scored 10 times, only conceding once. In fact, Liverpool are unbeaten against Brighton in just under 35 years. With only 1 win in their last 6 matches, Brighton fans won’t be expecting a result as they face the Champions elect.
Since their drab 0-0 draw earlier in the season, Cardiff and Huddersfield have had contrasting fortunes in the league. Cardiff currently sit one place out of the relegation zone on 18 points, whereas Huddersfield are bottom, 8 points from safety. Neil Warnock has made his Cardiff side difficult to play against and they continue to pick up wins against their relegation rivals. Fulham, Southampton, Brighton and Wolves have all been beaten at the Cardiff City stadium. Impressively, barring a loss to Burnley, the only teams to leave Cardiff with 3 points are all in the current top 7. Huddersfield would have been hoping to consolidate their Premier League position this season, but after 9 consecutive defeats, it looks grim for David Wagner.
