Europa League Final Betting Tips - Sevilla v Inter Milan
The Europa League is one of the competitions with the most teams in it at the start of the season, but this Friday, only 2 remain. Inter Milan and Sevilla have dominated throughout their stint in the Europa League and are both looking to end the season on a high. Sevilla are the Europa specialists, but Inter Milan definitely have the European pedigree. Sevilla’s Recent Form
Last Time Out For Sevilla
Sevilla had to come from behind in their semi final against Manchester United. As we’ve gotten used to this season, Man United took the lead through a Bruno Fernandes penalty after just 8 minutes. That goal seemed to invigorate Sevilla who looked like the better side for the rest of the game. After a few chances for both sides, Sevilla equalised through ex Liverpool winger Suso. Man United’s poor defence gave Sevilla plenty of chances going forward, and it became a matter of when, not if, the Spaniards would take the lead. It took 78 minutes but eventually Luuk de Jong scored a close range winner to send Sevilla to their 4th Europa League final in the last 8 years. It was the second time in two Europa League games that Sevilla have scored a late winner, so backing a Sevilla last goal isn’t a bad shout ahead of this game.
Inter Milan’s Recent Form
Last Time Out For Inter Milan
Inter Milan have been solid, if not hugely impressive in the Europa League this season. But, their 5-0 demolition of Shakhtar Donetsk showed everyone what Inter are about. Lautaro Martinez gave Inter a 19th minute lead as Shakhtar started slowly, but it was the second half where Inter really turned up. Martinez bagged another, Lukaku scored a late brace and D’Ambrosio also got in on the act. Antonio Conte has implemented his system to perfection and now it looks like his players are reacting. Christian Eriksen and Lukaku are just two of the new signings who have flourished in black and blue. Lukaku in particular has looked much better than during his stint at Manchester United, and if Inter are to win on Friday, he will have to perform.
Where’s The Value Bet?
There is no side with a better Europa League record than Sevilla. Since the UEFA Cup, eventually Europa League, was founded, no side has won it more than Sevilla. The Spaniards are 5 times winners, winning in ‘06, ‘07, ‘14, ‘15 and ‘16. The 3 seasons of back to back wins is something that has never been seen before in the Europa League, and likely something we won’t see again. Ever since, Sevilla have either been amongst the favourites to win in the Europa League, or a dark horse in the Champions League. With all that being said, it’s hard to back against them on the biggest stage, and at odds of 7/5 to lift the trophy, it’s even more tempting.
How To Watch The Europa League Final
The Europa League final will be shown live on BT Sport 1 from 20:00 on Friday 21st August.
Bet UK’s Headline Betting Tip
Inter might have blown Shakhtar apart in the semi final, but that isn’t something that’s typical of a Conte side. Just like any Italian side, they are often strong defenders and can battle through any game. Sevilla have a similar set up, with a solid defence and midfield behind their strikers. In what’s set to be a nervy affair, we aren’t expecting a lot of goals.
