Europa League Betting Tips
It’s the final round of the Europa League group stage on Thursday night and there is still plenty to be decided. Almost every one of the 24 matches taking place tonight has some form of ramifications for qualification, so any match you choose to watch should be a spectacle. Group K and Group L are the only two groups that are definitely set, but with Man U and Wolves both facing interesting match ups, even those games are must watch.

When Group G was drawn back in September, it was given the ‘Group of Death’ title and no one expected Rangers to make it through. Skip forward 5 games and Rangers sit top of Group G, with only a match at Ibrox between them and the Europa League knockout stages. Rangers have beaten both Feyenoord and Porto at Ibrox, so they won’t be fazed by the visit of Young Boys. As long as they don’t lose, Rangers are through. Young Boys are a strong side at this level, but have fallen off after a strong start in Europe. They beat Rangers back in Switzerland but haven’t won either of their last 2 Europa League matches. With Ibrox behind them and so much on the line, Rangers should be back in the knockout stages this season.
Along with Rangers, Celtic have shown that Scottish football isn’t on as much of a downward spiral as first thought. They are one of the few sides to have already qualified for the knockout stages after a 3-1 win over Rennes. Celtic have struggled recently in Europe, but under Neil Lennon, they look a different side. 2 incredible comeback wins against Lazio show just how strong this side can be on their night. Cluj have plenty to play for, with a win needed for any chance of qualification. They’ll also need Lazio to slip up, but expect a Cluj side desperate to win. That might actually work better for Celtic, who have consistently hit sides on the counter attack in Europe. With an in form Fraser Forster keeping Cluj out, Celtic will take at least one of their counter attacking chances.
Sevilla are the only team with a perfect 5/5 record in the Europa League this season. They’ve scored 14 goals in 5 games, only conceding twice on their way to the top of Group A. Both of those conceded goals came in the same game as well. Sevilla have truly dominated Group A and anything but a win away at APOEL will be surprising. Just 7 years ago, APOEL made the Champions League quarter finals, but they are a very different outfit from that season. They have also already qualified for the knockout stages this season, but have hardly been convincing. Neither side has anything to play for but pride, but Sevilla will definitely want to end the group stage with a 100% record.
