Epsom Derby Betting Tips

With Royal Ascot just around the corner, the crowds are finally back at the biggest UK Horse Racing event. But before we all head to the royal event, we've got two days of racing in the Epsom Downs as we build up to the start of the Epsom Derby Meeting.

The feature race on the card is scheduled to take place on Saturday afternoon. However, punters have over a day's worth of racing to watch before the big guns take to the track. Quite a few group one races are on the schedule, and to help you pick out the best of the bunch Bet UK have picked out three horses for both days, which we think can do the business.

For the latest Epsom Derby Betting, head over to Bet UK's online betting markets, where you'll find all the latest horse racing betting odds for every race at Epsom and around the UK.

Epsom Derby Day One Betting Tips

Nap of the Day

Dream With Me - 3:45 Epsom - 11/2

Trainer Mark Johnston always makes his presence felt at the biggest meetings in the UK Horse Racing calendar, and in the field of this handicap, he has one of the standout runners. Dream With Me has started the season strongly after a 168-day break, and if you take out his third-placed finish at Pontefract, he’s three for three in terms of victories. Making the drop down in distance last time out in what we feel was preparation for this race, he is one to watch if he kicks for home in the closing stages.

Dark Horse of the Day

Pyledriver - 3:10 Epsom - 7/1

The opening Group One race of the Epsom Festival is Coronation Cup, and it's here where we've selected our dark horse. Four-year-old Pyledriver is a horse that's been on the radar of many punters since his win in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Great Voltigeur at York in 2020. He heads to Epsom for the second time in his solid form for William Muir, who will be hoping for a strong performance today.

Longshot of the Day

Saffron Beach - 4:30 Epsom - 11/1

In a race built for fillies, it’s time for the girls to step up and take the title in one of the British Champions Series Races. A highlight on the Festival Card, the Epsom Oaks is usually the next stop for many of the 1000 Guineas runners and looking at the card, that’s precisely what we have here. However, our pick is Saffron Beach, who finished second in that race ahead of the current market leader. Ridden well at Newmarket in a longer distance race, we think she’ll have no issue here.

Epsom Derby Day Two Betting Tips

Nap of the Day

Bolshoi Ballet - 4:30 Epsom - 11/10

The name Aiden O’Brien is synonymous with the Epsom Derby. Having a record eight wins in the race already with the likes of Camelot, Australia, and most recently Serpentine, the Irish Champion trainer is going for yet another victory with market leader Bolshoi Ballet. Easily seeing off the opposition in his last two races at Leopardstown, he makes the step up in class and distance here. However, given the Ballydoyle prep for this race, it’s hard to see past him to the other runners.

Dark Horse of the Day

Recon Mission - 3:45 Epsom - 10/1

Not only does your horse need to have the speed to take on its rivals in the Epsom Dash Handicap, they also need to have the ability to manoeuvre through a large field of around 25 horses. But it's within these fields that we can look at horses with longer odds, and with lots to choose from, we've gone for Recon Mission. A winner here back in April for Tony Carroll, he's certainly on the upward trend, and his trainer will be hoping for a repeat of that performance here.

Longshot of the Day

Lottie Maire - 2:35 Epsom - 25/1

Although turf form is normally what we go on in races at big festivals such as the Epsom Derby, sometimes it's hard to ignore performances on the all-weather. Lottie Marie is in impeccable form, having won three of her last five outings for trainer Joseph Tuite. Comfortably winning last time out at Lingfield, where she flew clear in the final furlong, she should have an each-way chance if she can make the transition to turf here.
