Premier League Darts Betting Tips & Preview: Night 9 - Rotterdam

Consecutive nights of Premier League Darts take place in the Rotterdam Ahoy, as a sea of orange will greet 10 of the World’s best darting dynamos. This will be Night 9 overall, which is widely known as “Judgement Night”. What this usually means is that one of the players would be eliminated from the tournament, as the remaining 8 will continue in the hope of reaching the Play-Offs at the O2 in London on 23 May. However we already know that the player leaving us this time around is Raymond van Barneveld, so Barney will just be playing for pride.

Where Is The Value?

__ PETER WRIGHT to beat GERWYN PRICE - 7/5*__

Peter Wright To Win 7/5*

As far as consistency goes, Peter Wright can be considered to be a better darts player than Gerwyn Price. However, recent form suggests Gerwyn Price has performed better over the last few months through winning a few tournaments. Even though Price started this Premier League season the better too, he began this week 1 point and 1 place behind Wright in the table, a surprising fact considering “Snakebite” has admittedly been nowhere near his best so far.

It is Wright that has much the better head to head record as well though, winning 12 of their 15 meetings overall including once in the World Darts Championship and a victory in the 2017 UK Open final. Bet UK are predicting yet another victory for the World number 3 Peter Wright in Rotterdam, who is likely to have the crowd on his side since he’s by far the more popular player. He can be backed at odds of 27/20*.

Other Premier League Darts Betting Predictions - Night Nine:

Mensur Suljovic vs Daryl Gurney

Mensur Suljovic To Win 23/20*

“The Gentle” Mensur Suljovic did not have the greatest start to the 2019 Premier League Darts season but he has really turned things around in the last few weeks. So much so in fact, that he started this crucial week in the top 4. The Austrian destroyed Michael Smith 7-2 in Berlin, then beat Rob Cross from 5-1 down and should be full of confidence. The same can be said for Daryl Gurney, after his fantastic 7-5 win over Michael van Gerwen followed by ending Raymond van Barneveld’s Premier League career with a 7-1 win. That being said, we believe Suljovic will edge this one and take home the full 2 points.

Rob Cross vs Jeffrey de Zwaan

Rob Cross to win 20/31*

Jeffrey de Zwaan is stepping in as the final contender, a system that was a quick fix which turned into a bit of a masterstroke. He has a tough task ahead of him though, facing the former World Darts Champion Rob Cross who had been in tremendous form throughout recent weeks until last night. De Zwaan is another of the Dutch contingent and thus should have a good amount of support. We don’t think it will be enough though, as Rob Cross will need to bounce back from throwing it away against Mensur Suljovic.

Raymond van Barneveld vs Michael van Gerwen

Michael van Gerwen to win - 5/19*

The dream is over for RVB, as the doyen of Dutch darts crashed out of his final Premier League season with a whimper in the first of the nights in Rotterdam. It was difficult to watch such a legend of the game playing so poorly in front of his home fans and it seems as if he just has nothing left in the tank at this stage. Knowing the mindset of Michael van Gerwen, he will show no mercy to a man he greatly respects and will be looking for a whitewash 7-0 victory. We wouldn’t put it past him getting it either...

James Wade vs Michael Smith

TIP: DRAW - 33/10*

Draw - 33/10*

It has been a very strange season for both James Wade and Michael Smith, as both players have been lacking consistency in a big way. This is probably the toughest match to call of the evening, as they are evenly matched at this moment in time. Wade battled to a draw with Dimitri van den Bergh on Wednesday, and Smith beat Gerwyn Price with a pressured finish on the bull. Bet UK are tipping the draw for this one at odds of 33/10*.
