Premier League Darts Betting Tips Night 4 - Exeter

Premier League Darts Betting Tips & Preview: Night 4 - Exeter

Exeter may not be considered one of the more boisterous venues for the Premier League Darts each year, but the chances are there will still be plenty of fireworks up on the oche. It is week 4 of the Premier League, and so far it is unsurprisingly Michael van Gerwen who is leading the table.

The defending champion is actually the only player to have won all his matches so far, showing that he really is head and shoulders above the rest of the field at the moment. His closest challengers are Daryl Gurney, Gerwyn Price and Peter Wright, who all have 4 points from 3 matches.

In the South-West of England, Luke Humphries steps in as this weeks contender, after his terrific run to the quarter-finals of the PDC World Darts Championship. “Cool Hand Luke” takes on the Welshman Gerwyn Price, while other big games see MVG take on James Wade and Daryl Gurney battle Rob Cross.

Here are our darts betting tips for The 2019 Premier League Darts Night 4 in Exeter.

Premier League Darts Tips

Where Is The Value?

DARYL GURNEY to beat ROB CROSS - 17/10*

Daryl Gurney to win 17/10*

Darts is a form sport, and even if you are a great player it can end up meaning nothing if you are woefully out of form. In some cases, you’re only as good as your last match and for Daryl Gurney that was a great 7-5 victory over the World finalist Michael Smith. During that win, the Northern Irish thrower won 3 straight legs at the crucial time to take the points from 5-4 down at one stage. Gurney also managed a fantastic 140 checkout and had a good 3-dart average of 99.14.

His opponent in Exeter will be Rob Cross, who only narrowly avoided being whitewashed 7-0 by Michael van Gerwen last week. MVG was visibly annoyed not to get a perfect victory, which says it all about the performance of Cross. It was a disappointing night for the former World Darts Champion, and a contest against an in-form Gurney is not the ideal scenario for him.

Bet UK fancy Gurney to play his best darts and considering the form of both players, we believe that the odds of 17/10* for Gurney to win provides some great value.

Daryl Gurney - 23/20*

180s Last Week:
Daryl Gurney - 4
Rob Cross - 2

Both players are at darts odds of 23/20* to hit the most 180s in this match, as they are both good maximum hitters. As we expect Gurney to have the best of the match, so it is only natural to believe he will also edge the 180 count.

Other Premier League Darts Betting Predictions - Night Four: Exeter

Luke Humphries vs Gerwyn Price

Gerwyn Price To Win 20/27*

Although Luke Humphries will undoubtedly have the crowd on his side in this one, there is a clear gulf in class between the two players. Gerwyn Price has been on an incredible run of form in the last 7 days, getting a hard fought draw against James Wade in the Premier League Darts last week, as well as sensationally winning both of the Players Championship events at the weekend, making it 14 wins in a row over the course of two days. This sort of form should be enough to see him blow Luke Humphries away in Exeter.

180s Last Week:
Gerwyn Price - 5
Luke Humphries - N/A

We expect “The Iceman” to dominate the contest and considering the form he has been in, it would be a huge surprise for him to miss out on the most 180s in the match.

Mensur Suljovic vs Peter Wright

Peter Wright To Win 7/5*

It has been a strange campaign for Peter Wright so far. The table will tell you that he is currently sat in the top four after three weeks of action but that certainly does not tell the full story. It is likely that if you asked Wright himself he would say that he has not performed anywhere near his best. The World number 3 beat Contender Steve Lennon in Dublin last week which was an average performance. Wright will know that in order to beat Mensur Suljovic he will have to play a lot better, but he is certainly capable of doing so. “Snakebite” can be backed at darts odds of 7/5* to claim the 2 points.

DRAW - 15/4*

180s Last Week:
Peter Wright - 2
Mensur Suljovic - 2

Neither player has ever been huge a 180 hitter throughout their careers, and we don’t really expect them to start this week.

Michael van Gerwen vs James Wade

Michael van Gerwen to win - 4/13*

Michael van Gerwen is playing so well on the big stage that the question is again being asked: is anyone good enough to beat him? On current form, the answer to that looks like being no. The World Champion has eased to three wins from three so far and has never looked in any danger of losing. James Wade has been hit and miss so far in 2019 and he will give this game his best shot, but the chances are Michael van Gerwen will prove to be far too good. MVG can be backed at darts betting odds of 4/13* to win in Exeter.

180s Last Week:
Michael van Gerwen - 2
James Wade - 5

MVG is, of course, a big 180 hitter and if he does go on to dominate this match then we expect him to grab a few maximums on the way to victory.

Michael Smith vs Raymond van Barneveld

Michael Smith to win - 20/29*

Considering the momentum that he would have felt from reaching the World Darts Championship final, it has been a poor start to the Premier League for Michael Smith. He is a player that is known to be a harsh critic of himself, and the fact that he felt he vastly underperformed in that final seems to have gotten to him mentally. Last weeks defeat to Daryl Gurney was really poor for his standards, with an average of just 93.18 which is well below his best. Barney has scraped 2 draws but is yet to win, and if Smith has any hope of reaching the Premier League last 4 again as he did last year he will need to win matches like this.

180s Last Week:
Michael Smith - 4
Raymond van Barneveld - 3

Michael Smith has always been one of the biggest 180 hitters on the PDC Tour and we expect him to follow on from his 4 maximums last week with another great performance in the South East of England.
