Premier League Darts Tips: Night 12 - Cardiff
Eight of the world’s finest darts players head to Wales for what promises to be a spectacular night of arrows action. Former World Darts Champion Rob Cross leads the table at this stage but could be unceremoniously knocked off his perch by his opponent this week, “Mighty” Michael van Gerwen. Who will walk out of the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff as the Premier League Darts leader?

Where Is The Value?
Gerwyn Price battled to a fantastic 8-5 victory over Mensur Suljovic in Liverpool last week, proving that he is still more than capable of finishing this Premier League Darts season in the play-off places. Considering how badly things went for the Welshman last year in this very same competition, Price can be happy with how his campaign has gone. There are currently four players level on 12 points, with “The Iceman” sitting pretty in 4th place.
Michael Smith, on the other hand, has managed to find himself rooted to the bottom of the table. Smith was swept aside convincingly in Liverpool by Michael van Gerwen with a 7-3 scoreline. “Bully Boy” is in desperate need of a win here, but Price is the man in form between the two. Smith has had the better of Price throughout their careers so far, winning eight and losing two, including a 7-5 win earlier in the Premier League. Price is playing well though, and we’re predicting a win for the Welshman.
Other Premier League Darts Betting Predictions - Night 12:
Rob Cross vs Michael van Gerwen
Rob Cross has maintained his hold over the Premier League in the last few weeks even with Michael van Gerwen breathing down his neck. One point clear at the top, “Voltage” has won eight of his ten matches so far and looks to be close to the form that won him the World Darts Championship back in 2018. MVG has had one extra draw which has put a spanner in the works, not yet replicating the form that led to his third World title back on New Years Day.
This should undoubtedly be the match of the night in Cardiff, and we expect it to be a test of both nerve and skill. If Cross can avoid defeat it would be a major boost for his title hopes. However, we are backing van Gerwen to claim the two points at odds of 4/7* and head back to the top of the table.
Mensur Suljovic vs Daryl Gurney
Daryl Gurney had briefly jumped up to world number three in the PDC Order of Merit. He has since fallen back below Gary Anderson and Peter Wright, but it just goes to show how well the Northern Irishman has done over the past couple of years. The Premier League table is close too, with Gurney and his opponent this week Mensur Suljovic as two of the men sitting on 12 points.
This should be an intriguing game, as both players have been extremely hit and miss in terms of their form. Gurney is fresh off a 7-7 draw with James Wade, while Suljovic lost 8-5 to Gerwyn Price. The head to head form is even with five victories apiece, but it was “Superchin” that got a 7-3 win earlier in the Premier League campaign. We are backing a repeat at odds of 5/4*.
Peter Wright vs James Wade
Peter Wright has to be extremely disappointed with how his Premier League Darts season has gone so far, languishing in 7th place with just 9 points from 11 matches. It’s not even so much the results that are bad, he is just playing so far below his usual level. This competition can be a gruelling slog and it looks like the travel and pressure may be getting to the Scotsman.
James Wade, on the other hand, is performing really well. “The Machine” has had some brilliant results throughout the campaign, including a spectacular victory against Michael van Gerwen. These two players have had up and down careers, so it makes sense that their head to head record is close. Wright has 11 wins, while Wade has 10 wins. The earlier meeting this year was a draw, and we are expecting the same result here. You can back the draw at darts odds of 7/2*.
Bet UK Accumulator
We are also tipping a Bet UK accumulator for the arrows action. Michael van Gerwen, Daryl Gurney and Gerwyn Price all to win is odds of 8/1*.
