Bet UK are live at the historic York racecourse, the home of the Dante Festival. We will be bringing you live results, the latest odds and all updates from the Festival. Keep an eye on this page thorughout the next 2 days for everything you need ot know about the 2019 Dante Festival.
Friday 17th May
16:52 : Just one more race left for the day and it's the Longines Irish Champions Weekend Handicap. A longer race for this course at just over 1m 3f, we'll hopefully see the Dante Festival bow out with a bang. Laafy is currenlty 2/1 favourite heading into this one.
16:41 : The biggest winner of the day so far comes in the form of 22/1 Wedding Date. He ran well throughout, held just behind the leaders until the final furlong before being pushed to the fore. An impressive run, but again another missing favourite. This time it was Tunax who failed to impress. The step up in class might have been just too much for Free Love who fell behind as the race drew to a close.
16:33 : Just waiting on the horses to get settled and ready ahead of the Practice Stakes. Like I said, this is an open field so anyone could realistically win it, and I'll be keeping an eye on Free Love at 13/2. It's a step up for him but he looks like he could be a prospect.
16:19 : 2 more races for the day and now we move onto the Yorkshire Equine Practice Stakes. Bet UK's online betting has odds of 9/2 for Tenax to win as favourite, but in truth, it's a very open field.
16:15 : Accommodate was nowhere to be seen as Agincourt claims the win in a 3 way photo finish. Agincourt, Starlight Romance and Breathtaking Look all had a claim for the win, but it was Agincourt on the far side that was a nose ahead. The announcement came with a large cheer from the crowd, so there's presumably alot of happy punters after that one.
15:42 : UAE Prince shows why he was classed as a favourite pre race with a dominating display. Society Red and Lucius Tiberius pushed him close but it was never too much of a contest. The rain appears to have stopped as we move onto the Frank Whittle Partnership Fillies' Stakes.
15:21 : As we approach the next race, it's just started to rain. It remains to be seen how long it will last, or even if it will have an effect on the track, but it's worth noting.
15:12 : As expected, Stradivarius takes home the Yorkshire Cup, but not as easily as his trainers might have liked. Dettori held him until 3f out, when he went head to head with Southern France. Eventually he pulled away at the post, but it wasn't as easy as some expected. It is worth noting however, that he was running with a handicap so he could be even better next time out.
14:47 : Just over 10 minutes until we see Stardivarius take to the track in the Yorkshire Cup. As it stands, he is a clear 8/11 favourite with Bet UK, still followed by Ispolini at 10/3. This is by far the highlight of the day and the crowd gets more excited as we draw closer to 3:00.
14:44 : It was close but Magnetic Charm beats Twist 'n' Shake by a neck. It looked like Dettori could have got that final push, but he has to settle for a second place. James Doyle grabs his first win of the day and now we look forward to the big one.
14:28 : We are finally off in the 2:25 after Invitational refused to race and has been withdrawn. Frankie Dettori will be hoping that Twist 'n' Shake will merit his place as favourite.
14:01 : Well Lady Kermit threw the first race away after leading for most of the race, giving Good Vibes the chance to take the win. Harry Bentley gets his first win of the day and we now look forward to the 2:25.
13:34 : Just 15 more minutes until the racing gets underway. We mentioned earlier that the SP favourites might get closer but they've actually drifted apart as things stand. Bet UK have priced Lady Kermit up at 7/2 now, and Fleeting Princess is now 5/1. I also tipped Lady Fandhita to perhaps sneak into the places in this one and you can get her at a price of 9/1.
13:03 : Still a couple of hours to go, but Stradivarius is undoubtedly the highlight of today's action. Bet UK currently make him a 8/11 favourite, with Ispolini (10/3) and Southern France (7/1) the only two who look like troubling him. It's already been reported that John Gosden has the Ascot Gold Cup in his sights, so expect him to be a full pelt today as he prepares for Royal Ascot.
12:49 : 1 hour to go until the racing gets underway today, with Lady Kermit leading the early betting at 4/1. Fleeting Princess isn't far behind however so that could all change before 1:50.
11:59: Welcome back to Bet UK's live blog for the 2019 Dante Festival. Today, we're looking forward to seeing Stradivarius back in action in the 3:00 Yorkshire Cup, looking for his 7th win in a row. The first race is again at 1:50, so make sure to check back before then for the latest updates from York racecourse.
Thursday 16th May
17:10: Carnwennan wins the final race of today's Dante Festival action after a commanding run. After a brilliant day of racing, we'll be back again tomorrow to look forward to the Yorkshire Cup and another Stradavarius performance!
16:46 : The final race at York today is the Investec Wealth Handicap, with quite a wide, open field. A 9/2 favourite is The Cashel Man who will be ridden by Oisin Murphy. Murphy did get an early win with Telecaster, but hasn't impressed too much since then.
16:43 : What a performance from Repartee! Halfway through the Maidens Stake, he took command and never looked like losing once he got going. Credit must also go to Forbidden Land, who placed second at 25/1. Only one more race left for the day now.
16:32 : Just a few more minutes until the Maiden Stakes now, and Story of Light sits just above evens at 5/4. Oisin Murphy will be looking for his second win of the day however, riding When Comes Here.
16:15 : A 3 way photo finish to end the Westow Stakes, with Garrus eventually being judged as a winner, although it looked like Shades of Blue might have nicked it. Well Done Fox and Semoum had to pull out prior to the race but judging by the end, neither would have challegened seriously.
16:00 : 3 races left at York today, starting with the 4:05 Westow Stakes. If the odds are anything to go by, this will be a two horse race between Soldier's Call (11/4) and Garrus (3/1). If you're looking for an outsider, then Charming Kid at 20/1 might race into a place.
15:41 : It turned out to be neither Beringer nor Hortzadar that took the win, with What's The Story claiming all the glory.
15:21 : On to the next race and it's a much tighter field than the last two. Beringer is the early favourite at 4/1, although Hortzadar is worth a look for an each way place.
15:11 : The first shock of the day comes in the Dante Stakes, with Telecaster edging out Too Darn Hot with a fantastic performance. After his loss, Too Darn Hot will not be entering into the Epsom Derby, but expect Telecaster to make an appearance.
14:41 : From one favourite to another, it's time for the headline Dante Stakes next. Too Darn Hot has been favourite for this one for a while and it's tough to see that changing. If anyone can push him though, it will be Line Of Duty, who currently sits at 7/1 on Bet UK.
14:35 : As expected, Lah Ti Dar wins but she definitely made hard work of it. Rawdaa pushed her all the way to the end and finished in a deserved second place.
14:17 : Just under 10 minutes until the Fillies' Stakes and Lah Ti Dar is still the runaway favourite in the market. Bet UK currently prices her at 2/5, with Frankie Dettori expected to grab his first win of the day.
13:59 : Well after a delayed start, Copper Knight (10/1) takes the first race after a strong finish. Foolad beats Marnie James in a photo finish as we now look forward to the Fillies' Stakes.
13:25 : With 25 minutes to go until the opening race of the day, Abel Handy, Cowboy Solider, Saaheq all sit at 15/2 joint favourites. Saheeq has the best form heading into the race and with Silvestre de Sousa riding him, that could be the edge in a tight race.
11:57 : There's 2 hours to go until the first race of the day, but the biggest action is the Dante Stakes at 3:00pm. As thing's stand, Too Darn Hot is the 10/11 favourite at Bet UK, with Telecaster at 6/1 his closest competitor.
11:42 : Welcome to Bet UK's live blog for the Dante Festival! We are live from York Racecourse this afternoon and will be bringing you all the latest updates, odds and betting tips for each race.
