2020 Stayers Hurdle Betting Tip
Paisley Park is the runaway favourite for the 2020 Stayers Hurdle, and for good reason after his Cheltenham Trials Day victory. But, we are looking for a bit of value by backing Summerville Boy at 9/1 in the ante post. Summerville Boy is a horse with a successful track record at Cheltenham. His only Festival race was also his only win, opening the 2018 Festival with a win in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. So far this year, Summerville Boy has raced twice, both at Cheltenham. Now, he did finish behind Paisley Park in his last outing, but it was only by 1 ¼ lengths. At 9/1, that’s plenty of value to persuade us to back him, rather than the much shorter Paisley Park.
Bet UK’s online betting has horse racing betting odds for Stayers Hurdle, as well as odds for all races throughout the Cheltenham Festival.

History of the Cheltenham Stayers Hurdle
Originally ran in 1912, the Stayers Hurdle has been one of the highlights of the Cheltenham Festival since it was brought back into the schedule in 1946. Since then, the Hurdle has been run over 3 miles and is always keenly contested. One of national hunts biggest names found huge success in the Stayers Hurdle. Big Buck’s amazingly won the race 4 times in a row from 2009 - 2013, each time ridden by Ruby Walsh. Walsh is unsurprisingly the most successful jockey to have taken part in the Stayers Hurdle, with a 2017 Nichols Canyon win to add to his Big Buck’s run.
