Carabao Cup Boosted Accumulator

Ahead of the Carabao Cup first round, Bet UK have boosted Coventry, Millwall and Reading all to win to 7/1. Coventry and Millwall are facing teams from the lower divisions, so will each be expecting an easy ride to the 3rd round, whilst Reading take on Luton at home.

Coventry, Millwall and Reading All To Win @ 7/1

Gillingham v Coventry - 18:00, Tuesday 15th September

Gilliingham’s reward for beating Southend in Round 1 is a draw against newly promoted Coventry City. Gillingham struggled in the last round, but took the lead midway through the first half. After the break though, Gillingham were sent to 10 men following Ryan Jackson’s dismissal, and Southend took control. They will need to improve their overall performance if they are going to shock Coventry. It was a similar story for Coventry in the first round against MK Dons. They were sent down to 10 men early, but still managed to have the better of the chances. Despite having less of the ball, Coventry’s quality still showed through and they scored a late 82nd minute winner. With a full match of 11 v 11, Coventry should be able to control this match and earn their place in the 3rd round.

Millwall v Cheltenham - 18:00, Tuesday 15th September

Millwall were rewarded for their easy round 1 win over Crawley with a home draw against out of form Cheltenham. Millwall dominated that game from start to finish and quickly took a 2-0 lead. Despite conceding before half time, giant striker Matt Smith restored their 2 goal lead on the hour mark and the game slowly dithered out. For Cheltenham, they would have been grateful to make the second round. They faced League One Peterborough last weekend, eventually winning 1-0. But, the actual story of the match was very different. Peterborough had 3 times as many shots, and managed 7 shots on target, compared to Cheltenham’s 6 shots total. Against a much better Millwall side, this should be one of the easier games to predict at this stage of the Carabao Cup.

Reading v Luton - 18:00, Tuesday 15th September

One of the few all Championship games in the 2nd round takes place at the Madjeski as Reading host Luton. Reading had Lucas Joao to thank for their place in the 2nd round. After falling behind to Colchester, Joao took charge of the match and scored a late first half equaliser. 2 more second half goals and Joao went home with the match ball as Reading showed their Championship class. Luton had a very similar story in their match against Norwich. The Canaries came into the match as heavy favourites, but it was Luton who stole the show. James Collins' late 16 minute hattrick gave Luton a 3-1 lead in one of the best performances of the round. However, the match against Reading should actually be a tougher task. A 2-0 win over Derby for the Royals had fans dreaming of another playoff run, but a deep Carabao Cup run also wouldn’t go a miss.
