Robert Cobley

Rob is 26 and has been working in the betting and gaming industry since he left university with a mathematics degree. Rob began as a trading assistant for Betfred and the Tote following their merger, and moved on to create statistical models to predict the outcomes of events, most notably golf tournaments and tennis matches. This was used for pricing and promotions. He left Betfred to focus on proprietary trading, and now does this across fixed odds and exchange bookmakers, running dummy matches and tournaments based on player statistics to model the likely outcome of events and find value bets.

Rob has worked with the European Golf Tour collecting data at Tournaments including Major Championships. In his spare time, Rob captains his local cricket club and likes to play golf and tennis. Rob lives in Wigan and likes to spend his time off working in the Ribble Valley and enjoying the Lancashire countryside.
