Argentina’s Copa America Preparation
Argentina only had the one friendly in the lead up to 2019 Copa America. In terms of quality it wasn’t the best preparation as they tore apart a sub par Nicaragua side in a 5-1 victory. Argentina started the game with almost a full strength line up with Messi, Aguero, Lo Celso and Otamendi all featuring from the outset. Messi opened the scoring after 37 minute a low finish after weaving his way into the box. Just 2 minutes later and he doubled the lead, knocking in the rebound from a Sergio Aguero shot. Messi and Aguero were subbed off for Paulo Dybala and Lautaro Martinez at half time, and it was Martinez who scored the 3rd goal. Martinez grabbed his brace after 72 minutes, finishing at the back post from a corner. Watford’s Roberto Pereyra made it 5-0 late on as Argentina continued to run riot. Nicaragua grabbed a late consolation but they never came close to matching Argetina. Lionel Messi in particular carried on his form from his Barcelona season and will surely try to drag his country to Copa America success.
Lionel Messi To Score First - 11/4

Colombia’s Copa America Preparation
Unlike Argentina, Colombia faced 2 friendlies before the Copa America, both against sides who played in last summer’s World Cup. They started with a match against Panama in Bogota and blew their visitors away with their first half performance. It took just 5 minutes for Colombia to open the scoring as left back William Tesillo headed into the bottom corner from a free kick. Luis Muriel scored the second after 37 minutes from long range, before Falcao scored a 45th minute penalty to complete the scoring. As is normal with friendlies, a flurry of half time substitutions meant it was a slower and less dominant second half. Their second friendly was against Peru and was another impressive showing. Mateus Uribe scored his first goal for Colombia after 23 minutes when he headed in from a James Rodriguez cross. Uribe headed in again in the second half, doubling his tally for Colombia. In the 93rd minute, Duvan Zapata grabbed a third to complete another 3-0 win. We’ve picked Duvan Zupata as one of our players to watch at the Copa America, so we will go with him for out tip here.
Zapata to score last - 5/1
Where’s the Value Bet?
In their last 6 matches, Colombia have scored 15 goals for an average of 2.5 goals a game. That includes a 4 goal haul against the USA and 3 matches with 3 goals scored. Since becoming a powerhouse at the 2014 World Cup, Colombia have been one of the more promising South American sides. Led by Falcao, he is joined by a supporting cast of James Rodriguez, Juan Cuadrado, Luis Muriel and Duvan Zapata. There is plenty of creativity and goals between the quartet and we can expect goals throughout the Copa America. With that being said, Colombia to score over 1.5 goals is 47/20 against Argentina. After the recent goalscoring form that Colombia have been in, then this sounds like a realistic bet.
Colombia to score over 1.5 Goals - 47/20
