5. Placing Bets

5.1 A bet shall be deemed void if it is not transmitted in full.

5.2 Once a client places a bet they shall receive an acknowledgement which is confirmation of acceptance by BetUK.

5.3 A number of bets may be treated as being one when a client sends multiple copies of the same bet. BetUK reserves the right to void bets where there may be evidence of collusion between two or more clients.

5.4 Where a number of bets are submitted by a client they will be dealt with in the order received.

5.5 BetUK reserves the right to refuse any bet or part of a bet without giving a reason at any time. In addition BetUK reserve the right to close a customer’s account and refund the balance of their account without further explanation. In this event outstanding bets will be honoured.

5.6 The minimum bet online is £0.50 or $1 or a similar equivalent where a client chooses to maintain their account in a different currency.

5.7 Where a client gives ambiguous instructions BetUK reserves the right to split the total staked between the potential outcomes. Where this is impractical BetUK reserves the right to void the bet. In either instance the decision of the company is final.

5.8 Customers are unable to cancel or change a bet once the bet has been placed and the acceptance confirmed.

5.9 Multiple bets are accepted, however no such bet can be accepted where the result of one leg influences the outcome of another (see Rule 10 – Related Bets).

5.10 All prices are subject to variation and become fixed at the time a bet is placed. BetUK cannot be held responsible for any typing, human or palpable error which leads to any errors or omissions, including the announcing, publishing or marking of prices or results, other than those intended, or bets being accepted that contravene BetUK rules. In cases where a bet has been accepted at an incorrect price BetUK reserves the right to void the bet.

5.11 BetUK reserves the right to refuse any bet without explanation.

5.12 Bets will be accepted up to the advertised start time. If a bet is inadvertently accepted which includes an event after its start time, BetUK reserve the right to void any affected bets unless specific odds are being offered In Play.

6. Payments

6.1 No credit may be offered by any employee of BetUK. It is the client’s responsibility to maintain sufficient funds in their account and to stake their bets accordingly. BetUK reserve the right to void any bet that may be inadvertently accepted when the client’s account does not have sufficient funds to cover the whole of the bet.

6.2 Bets placed by credit or debit card do not become valid until BetUK has received payment. In the event that such payment is not forthcoming before the event that has been bet on commences, that bet is automatically void.

6.3 Should funds be credited to a client’s account in error, it is the client’s responsibility to notify BetUK of the error without delay. Any winnings subsequent to the error and prior to the notification of BetUK, whether linked to the error or not, shall be deemed invalid and returned to BetUK.

6.4 Winnings will be credited to clients’ accounts following confirmation of the final result.

6.5 A customer may only use their own credit/debit card in their own betting account. Any deposits made using someone else’s credit/debit card will be refunded and any bets placed with funds from this card will be deemed void.

6.6 A customer may only have one funded betting account. Any additional accounts that are funded will be closed and the deposit amount returned.

6.7 BetUK shall in no event, nor under any circumstances, be liable for any damages or losses without limitation that are deemed or alleged to have resulted from or caused by this website or its content, including without limitation delays or interruptions in operation or transmission, communications lines failure, any person’s use or misuse of the site or its content, or any errors or omissions in content.

8.1 The maximum amount that can be won by one customer in one day’s betting, regardless of stake, is £100,000 or its equivalent in an accepted currency.

8.2 Any bet involving a selection from the following Sports or Football Leagues will be subjected to a Maximum Payout Limit of £20,000 or currency equivalent.

Bulgarian Football, Hungarian Football, Slovakian Football, Ukraine Football, Czech 1st Division & Cups, Belgium 2nd Division Football, Dutch 2nd Division Football, Finland Lower Football, Czech Extraliga Ice Hockey, Czech1 League Ice Hockey, Slovakian Extraliga Ice Hockey and Russian Extraliga Ice Hockey.

8.3 Any bet involving a selection from the following Sports or Football Leagues will be subjected to a Maximum Payout Limit of £50,000 or currency equivalent.

Australian Football, Croatian Football, Polish Football, Mexican Football, Chilean Football, Italian Cup, Japanese Football, Irish Football, Switzerland B Football, Denmark 2nd Football, Norwegian 2nd Football, Sweden 2nd Football, German Regional Football, Scottish Div2/Div3 Football, Finland Metsis Ice Hockey League, Bandy, Cycling.

9. Settlement Rules

9.1 Bets are settled to Win unless Each Way is selected. An Each Way bet is a bet of twice the selected unit stake. It contains one bet of unit stake on the selection to Win and one bet of unit stake on the selection to Place according to the terms advertised for the event.

For example:

£10 Each Way on Tiger Woods to win the US Masters (£20 staked)
Win Odds: 8/1, Place terms 1/4 odds a place 1,2,3,4
If Tiger wins, both Win and Place bets are winners;
£10 @8/1 = £90 (including stake) plus £10 @ 2/1 (i.e. 8 x 1/4) = £30
Total Returns = £120
If Tiger finishes 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Total Returns =£30.

9.2 Settlement will be based on the odds and Place terms applicable when the bet is accepted. BetUK reserves the right to alter the Place terms for Each Way betting before or during any event or market.

9.3 For the purpose of calculation, Each Way Doubles, Trebles etc. are settled as two distinct bets, i.e. Win on to Win and Place onto Place.

9.4 Place bets are not accepted unless an equal amount is invested to Win. Any Place stake inadvertently accepted in excess of the Win stake will be void. Place-only bets may be accepted on some Pari-Mutuel Markets and any markets specifically set-up to take such bets.

9.5 In a Dead Heat the stake money on a selection is divided by the number of runners involved in the Dead Heat. The full odds are then paid to the divided stake, with the remainder of the money lost.

9.6 Where a selection is made void, then for single bets the stake will be returned. Bets on selections that do not run for whatever reason may or may not be returned depending on the rules for the individual sport or event. In accumulative bets the stake will run on to the remaining selections with a Double becoming a Single, a Treble becoming a Double and so on.

9.7 The official result is final for settlement purposes except where specific rules state the contrary. Subsequent changes in results, whether due to disciplinary hearings or otherwise are disregarded. Where in the reasonable judgement of BetUK no official result is available, the result will be:

Determined by an independent authority of BetUK’s choosing whose verdict shall be final for all purposes, or otherwise determined in the reasonable opinion of BetUK with such opinion to be formed by reference to all reasonably available evidence.

9.8 Bets will provisionally be settled by reference to all available evidence, but if the result which is determined as set out above differs from the result used for provisional settlement, settlement may be retrospectively adjusted so as to reflect the result so determined.

9.9 Final settlement of bets will occur when BetUK considers that the final result and settlement has been completed satisfactorily with reference to all available evidence.

10. Related Bets

10.1 Multiple bets that combine different selections within the same event are not accepted where the outcome of one affects or is affected by the other.

For example, in a Football match involving Manchester United, two selections may be:

Manchester United to win 2-0 and
Manchester United's Wayne Rooney to be scorer of the first match goal.

The bets are related as Wayne Rooney’s goal-scoring performance would influence Manchester United winning the match 2-0. A double combining the above selections is not possible using their market prices.

Special prices may be offered for the combined eventuality. When a special price is not available and such a bet is taken in error, it will be settled as two single bets with the stake equally divided.

10.2 Multiple bets that combine selections that are resolved at different times but still within the same tournament. These bets will be settled as instructed with the price of the second or subsequent selection being determined at each individual stage.

For example, in a Tennis tournament two selections may be:

Roger Federer to win the semi-final of Wimbledon and
Roger Federer to win the Wimbledon tournament outright.

As the odds of the second selection depends on the outcome of the first, the odds of Roger Federer winning the tournament at the time the bet was accepted cannot be used to calculate the double odds. The correct odds after the initial selection is completed will be attributed instead.

10.3 Multiple bets that combine selections within different events where the outcome of one affects or is affected by the other.

For example, two Horse Racing selections may be:

Septimus to win the Dante Stakes and
Septimus to win the Epsom Derby.

As the odds of Septimus to win the Epsom Derby depends on whether he wins the Dante Stakes (a recognised Derby trial), the odds for Septimus to win the Epsom Derby at the time the bet was accepted cannot be used to calculate the double odds. A special price to win both races may be quoted instead.

10.4 In the case of all multiples including selections with related outcomes, if a bet is taken inadvertently BetUK reserves the right to void part of or the whole of the bet.

11. Dead Heat Rules

11.1 A Dead Heat occurs where two or more participants in an event tie for first and second place. In the event of two selections having a Dead Heat, the customer’s stake is split with half the stake applied to the winning selection and the other half lost. With more than two selections, the stake is split proportionately.

12. Ante Post Bets

12.1 Ante post bets are those placed at prices on named selections taking part in an event before it has started.

Bets are accepted ‘all in, run or not, entered or not’, which means that should your selection fail to take part in an event, the bet is a loser unless our rules for an individual sport specifically state otherwise.

In all cases we reserve the right to impose a Rule 4 to reflect returning stakes on selections that do not take part.

13. Price Fluctuations

13.1 All prices are subject to fluctuation at all times and without notice.

14. Time of Acceptance

14.1 All bets selected with pre-match prices taken from BetUK will be accepted up until the start time displayed on the website. If a bet is accepted which includes a match that has already started and we are not offering prices In Play, that selection will be void.

If we are offering prices In Play on the match, the selection will accepted at the current price quoted.

15. In Play

15.1 BetUK makes every attempt to establish a fair assessment of events that transpire during an In Play match on a good faith basis with reference to the TV broadcaster’s coverage.

Situations may arise where it is not possible to categorically state what has happened. In the event that a matter requires closer examination, or the TV broadcaster’s coverage is interrupted or fails to start on time for whatever reason, or there is a technical failure in the trading facilities available to BetUK’s traders, we reserve the right to withhold settlement pending further investigation or to void bets.

If there is no further activity in an event following the acceptance of an In Play bet, these bets will be made void, unless specific sports rules state otherwise.

If it transpires that the TV broadcaster misses one or more events during a match or we settle a bet incorrectly, we reserve the right to make both positive and negative retrospective adjustments to accounts.

We rely on the decisions of the officials acting during the course of the game, match or tournament and these decisions shall be final regardless of whether they are subsequently overturned by appeal or otherwise.
