Dutch Eredivisie

The Asian Handicap is a good way to bet on the top league in Dutch football, as the margins for the bookies are lower, and thus it is easier for the bettors to find an edge. It also simplifies betting for the punters, as there are only two options, as opposed to match betting where there are three.

Although the Dutch League has been traditionally won by either Ajax, PSV Eindhoven or Feyenord, but recently other teams have stepped up to the plate, with AZ Alkmaar winning last year, and FC Twente are looking very good for the title this year.

Asian Handicap betting can be complicated, but it is essentially just a goal handicap given to one team. For instance, Ajax beat FC Groningen 3-0. If you had bet on Ajax at -3 goals then the bet would be a push, but if you had bet on them at -2.5 goals, then your bet would win. If you bet on a quarter handicap, e.g. Ajax -3.25, then half of your stake would have been a winner, and half would have been a push.

This type of betting is very useful when you want to back a short-priced favourite at more favourable odds, as you can back them with a negative handicap to get better prices.

As well as Asian Handicap betting, UK bookmakers also offer match result, half time / full time, correct score and first goalscorer markets for Dutch matches.
